| What is the best age to spay your female? Hi everyone: I need some input regarding spaying my little girl. Her name is Kyrah.. and she just turned 6 months on March 16th. I am a bit nervous about having her spayed. I do believe in spaying and neutering your animals. She is 4-1/2 lbs. I have tried to put her picture on the main location, but i cant do it. Anyways, any information will be greatly appreciated., Elizabeth and "Kyrah" How do youi get the smiles on the page??? : |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I just had Cali spayed at 9 months. I kept putting it off because she was tiny and on and off sickness. She came into heat a week before I spayed her. She had to be spayed while she was in heat because they thought she had a blockage. I wish I had had her done before she came into heat. She was out of sorts when she was in heat and I knew I was geting her spayed. So I would say that she could come into heat at any time and you may want to talk to your vet about getting her spayed soon. Cali did fine and she had a lot of other procedures done and she weighs 4 lbs. Just make sure your vet is familiar with putting small dogs under. Good luck I know how hard it is to take them in for surgery.

| kYRAH hI pATTY: Oh I really thank you for the information you gave me. I will call the vet on Monday. I sure hope your baby is doing better... How old is she now? She is gorgeous. I have been trying to put Kyrah's picture on the main window, but all my pictures are too large... Thanks again... Elizabeth |

| I always wait till the baby teeth are falling out or trying to that way I get mine spayed or neutered and their extra teeth pulled at the same time. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks She is 9 1/2 months old. She had her surgery 3 weeks ago tomorrow. She had biopsies done of her intestines and liver so her incision was huge! almost her whole underneath. For just a regular spay it will be a much smaller incision. Plus her being in heat I was a wreck. But the surgeon called me at 6 that night since she was in all day for throwing up and said she was going to do surgey in an hour and would call me when she was out. She called at 9 and said she was doing ok. So I really didn't have time to freak out. i just couldn't get mysef to make the appoinment before then so I know how you feel. As far as the pictures if you email them to me I can resize and email them back to you. i've only done it once for my sister but it worked. Pm me if you want to email me.

| A vet recommended before their first heat, So I had tilly spayed before her first! and this is supposed to limit the amount of tumors as well? (when they are older) maybe we have a vet in the house? |
