| Found Hi all, This cute little yorkie came up on my grandmother's porch. It looks like it has been "lost" for a while. All I know is it is a girl. Any suggestions on how I can tell if she is fixed and how old she is. I have been looking in the newspaper for a lost ad but nothing. So I think she has found a new home. She is very very sweet. How are yorkies with children? Any help would be great! |

I lost one of my dogs once. Called animal control and the person that found him and given their phone number. Good thing I called or I'd never gotten him back.

| Hello and welcome to YT You may want to check with your local vets as well and see if there has been any one looking for her and to see if she may be microchipped. Keep us posted on her status

| Definitely see if the little girl has been microchipped - and check with the animal shelter. Whoever lost that little pup may be just heartbroken.... try harder to find the owner... I know it's tempting to keep a little pup. They are so cute, but that's what we all fear most. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| yes.... please try to find the owner first. I know I'd be beside myself if I lost a baby. Check to see if she is microchipped..... that is a very popular thing now. You'll be doing a great service. |

| You guys scare me. I'm afraid that most people would consider themselves lucky if a stray little Yorkie shows up at their doorstep..... Being afraid that someone would keep my dog if it were lost and they found it - is a worry that I'm sure we all share. Carol Jean |

| i think the shelters have a way to check microchipping too... and maybe put up posters of the lil one and run an ad... but if she isnt microchipped and no one responds then the best thing you could do is give her a good home i hate to say it and break your heart but someone is probably looking for her... you dont see too many "stray" yorkies but if no one claims her there is alot of good info on yorkies here |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh wow - I agree - please try to find her home first before making decisions....there must be someone out there really missing her - and as attached as we all are to our own yorkies - None of us can imagine losing one.....You'll be doing the right thing to try your hardest to find her REAL home - I would call ALL the vets in your area....and take everyones suggestions...and Good luck ! |

| I had something like this happen with my little one. She got out of the yard and I looked everywhere for her. She had a collar on with tags and she is microchipped. I called everywhere looking for her and I walked every inch of my town putting up flyers and calling her name. I finally had given up ever finding her. (She had been gone for 24hrs.) I was sitting on my porch when a lady came up and asked me if I'd been looking for my cat. (My yorkie's name is Kitty.) I told her no that I was looking for my dog. She asked me what it looked like so I showed her a picture. She said "Oh, my neighbor just got one of those yesterday!" I asked her where she lived and when she told me it was less than a block from my house! I had even posted a flyer on the telephone pole in their front yard! I went to their house and asked if they had my dog. They told me no. I knew they did so I continued to describe my dog to them. When I finally told them she was microchipped they gave me back my dog and told me they were sorry. I grabbed up my little girl and left quickly. I know those people would've kept my dog if I hadn't had her microchipped. Please try to find the little dogs home! I am sure their owners are just heartsick that she is gone! |

| I would check the Vets in your area, most of them have lost and found signs posted. As well as the pet stores. I hope she has a chip, so she can find her way home. I'm sure you will do all you can, if you can't find her home, I think it's wonderful you can take her in. Good Luck to you!
