| Differences between Silkys and Yorkies Interesting site with pictures that compare Silkies, Yorkies, and Austrailian Terriers. They state that a Yorkie should be under 6 pounds???? I didn't know Silkies and Yorkies looked so much a like and wonder if some of our Yorkies have some Silky in their background because of their size. http://www.telusplanet.net/public/si...ifferences.htm |

| They are very similar in looks, the silkys are larger, and don't get the long coat. that website also had the headshape wrong. the standard calls for a flatter skull where as that site said domed. |

| I just met a silky yesterday outside! She was beautiful and had the coloring of Hallie with pretty long hair. I thought she was a yorkie from far away and as she got closer I could see in her face a difference, her snout was longer. Her name was Glenna, she was very pretty! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Some yorkies are bigger than 6lbs because the standard size used to be bigger than it is now and they have been breed down to what is now the AKC standard!! My Sailor is 8lbs and she is full blooded yorkie!!
