| He doesn't lift his leg.... My boy is a year and 3 months and when he goes to pee he doesn't lift his leg. Is there something weird with that? how do they learn lift it? He kinda quats like a girl. I 've never seen this before. Is it because i trainned him to go on newpaper? Does anyone else's Male do this? |

| My baby is a girl, but it I had a boy who didn't lift his leg, I wouldn't complain! I would think it's a good thing.

| My little Oreo has been squatting to pee ever since we got him ( 8 weeks old) .. he's 4 months now, a lot of people say it's very normal.. heck my 4 month old pomeranian is a female and she'd lift up her leg! it's perfectly normal! nothing to be worried about! |

| 3 months is REALLY young for a dog to start lifting his leg. Archie was about 7 or 8 months, maybe older when he started doing that...maybe you have to wait until the time they need to be neutered. I think Archie started marking around the same time he started to lift his leg. |

| Bailey started to lift his leg abt 6 months old, then I got him fixed, and he started squatting,, ( boyfriend says, its cause I took away his manhood!" ) anyhow,, now hes 9months and sometimes he lifts his leg, sometimes he squats, sometimes he squats and lifts his leg at the same time! , Hes kind of a switch hitter, I guess... Kind of interesting when we go outside, never know what to expect,,,, ha I'll take him over to a tree and he'll squat beside it! oh well,,, Im just thrilled it OUTSIDE, I dont care what he does!

| My little boy is 3 months and lifts his leg sometimes. I guess when he is lazy he squats. When he is sleepy he half raises his leg.

| Is your boy neutered? If you have a male neutered before he learns to lift his leg, unless another intact male is in the house, you dog will probably never learn to lift his leg to pee. I had my male neutered before he started to lift, and he never did lift until he was almost 4 years old. That is when I brought another male into my home to show, and he was not neutered. He is the one that taught my older male to lift. |

| Otis will be six years old in July, and he has never lifted his leg once. He also exclusively uses pee pads, so that might have something to do with it. I'm glad he doesn't lift his leg and spray! It's the male equivalent of leaving the toilet seat up. |
