Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | YORKIE trained as Service Dog Max's Mom really got me feeling for her when I read her post about her having an illness...I don't know what it is - I HOPE YOU ARE OK !! When I read about Max being her little angel watching over her..made me melt ! The minor surgery had showed me how totally tuned in to us a Yorkie can be - Chanel was my best nurse ! Didn't leave my side EVER till I felt better ! I wanted to share this with you - Debbie of Cosette's Closet (www.cosettescloset.com) has a Yorkie that has been TRAINED as a Service Dog ! She can do many things for Debbie that totally blew my mind ! I had seen an article about her having a really bad car accident and thru her recovery - she had the very best kind of motivation - Cosette - her tiny little Yorkie nurse - 2 weeks ago, I called to order (Her little SUNGLASS Barrettes) and I asked her how she was doing...we got to talking....We talked for an hour ! I believe she will share if anyone asks about her Cosette. I told her she needs to write the show Animal Miracles !! She really is proud of her baby and it's very very interesting !!! They love stories like that and I doubt people really KNOW a YORKIE is so very smart !!! Her baby even knows how to dial 911 - and can predict alot of Debbies illness before it happens - So Max's Mom - I hope you have a treatable illness...you mentioned one failed...(So sorry) Get better !! Max will help you !! (I would do the smiliey thingie here but haven't figured it out)! GOOD LUCK - Villette in Houston ! |

| NO WAY! Dial 911? Dang, that is impressive! You should nudge Cosette to write about her little Yorkie nurse on her site. There'd be many, many people that would love to hear about her little nurse! Yorkies have some kind of sixth sense, just too bad we're not smart enough to pick up fully on their senses! |

| Genie ... how wonderful! Cosette's site looks really interesting ... can't wait to look at everything there ... marked it to explore later. What a great "Animal Miracle" segment her story would make! Our baby Yorkies are the most intelligent dogs I have ever had the priviledge of getting to know ... the look in their eye is so different than other animals ... has anyone else noticed?! Toto always seems "in tune" with everything going on around her! My son's wife, Cindy is a nurse and cares for my Mom [who is 88, cannot walk and has to have 24/7 care]. They have a really strict schedule ... as soon as my Mom is up in the AM they have their "bathroom" routine and Cindy leaves her alone out of respect for her "privacy" making sure that she is safe, periodically checking on her. Missy, the Border Collie, on the other hand, lays right at her bathroom door and waits for her! December, 2002 .. one morning they were about their "routine" when Missy suddenly ran excitedly to Cindy who was in the kitchen and kept acting like she wanted her to come with her! Cindy followed Missy who led her to the bathroom where she found my Mom hermmoraging ... Cindy called 911 and they had to "bring her back" a couple of times in the ambulance on the way to the hospital! We almost lost her but thankfully after 2 blood transfusions & a few weeks in the hospital & rehab we were able to bring her home ... but we all believe that Missy is really the one who saved her. The doctors said that because of the loss of blood, her age and other medical problems if it had been even a few more minutes we would have lost her that day! Missy is definitely our "Heroine"!! and that, My YorkieTalk friends, is one of the reasons why I didn't "tell on her" the other day when she bit me!!!

| Yorkies make wonderful service dogs What a great story about the yorkie.......I'm not sure I could train Max to dial 911 but I know he recognized when I needed help. His entire posture, manner and behaviour changed as my needs were evident. He was wonderful. Thanks to all who inquired about my health. Short history for those who have asked: My career as a RN was spent in specialty units, eg ICU and ER......sometime during those years, I believe that a needle stick contaminated, with a virus, infected me and damaged my liver. I did not respond to the cutting edge treatment and it made me even sicker. I am now relying on natural products to keep me going until a drug comes out that will kill or reduce the amount of virus in my bloodstream. I am a positive person and try to enjoy each day with my husband, family and friends. I feel well enough to have a fairly good quality of life and I am doing OK. Thanks for asking. Max is one of the reasons for getting going each day!! Max's Mom |

| Thanks Thanks Cindy and to all who have encouraged me....I do strongly believe in the mind and body connection.....Surrounding ourselves with those who are positive and loving makes our lives more meaningful.....certainly that includes Max. Max's Mom |
