| Can they share a crate? I'm getting a second yorkie by the end of this summer. It'll be a male. Aggie's crate is pretty big. It says it fits a 15lb dog (she's barely 4lbs). I have her bed in there and her blanket so it doesn't seem so big. My question is this: is it possible for yorkies to share and sleep in one crate? I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I don't have to get a second crate.... Do I? |

| I asked this same question... And the general consensus was each dog needs to have their own private space to sleep. On occasion I let them stay in the same crate if I have to crate them during the day, but I don't think Dreama enjoys being in the crate with Wosie who is a non-stop play girl. Dreama is very mellow and would rather lay quietly than romp. I would keep them separate. Sorry...

| I live with my parents and my mom has a yorkie and so do I. Gizmo {moms } is 2yrs old and Liberty{mine} is just 4 1/2 months old they are in the same crate and it has made it easier for Liberty because she has always been with her mama until I got her @ 3 months. she doesn't sleep with us unless we are not at home see she goes everywhere we go on the weekends so if we stay @ a friends house so does she and that is the only time that she gets to sleep with us. If I was you I would try it. your other yorkie will let you know if they mind the company or not . good luck Laura and Liberty |

| When I used to use an xpen I would keep both of my yorkies in it.

| I put both my yorkies in the same crate, it's a really big one made for larger breeds. They do fine and like the company |

| Mine will not tolerate being separated, so they sleep together. The extra crate I bought is now in the backseat of my car for traveling. I did however get them at the same time which might make a difference.

| pens It is okay to keep adults in the same pen if they get along well...but I never crate pups and adults or even pups and young adults. I wouldn't crate anything Yorkies together until they know each other well and do not intimidate each other. |

| My dogs all share the same crate. I have 2 cocker spaniels and a maltese and a yorkie that all sleep together. I have the extra large crates! They all get along just fine. If I put the dogs in sperate crates they cry all night. This was easier and they seem to enjoy the company. |

| I too am planning on crating my two little ones togther once they get to know eachother. Morgan will be her xpen by herself for the first couple of months and once Bailey and Morgan have bonded I plan to have them sleep together. I think all dogs are different and you should use your best judgement.

I guess really it does depend on the pups and how they interact. I think poor Dreama would have a nervous breakdown if she had to be crated with Wosie! However, my Angel and Jasper were crated together all their lives, and they did fine. HUGS, girlie!! Didn't mean to make you feel bad!!

| My Jasmine, Bitsy and Butch sleep in the same crate at night (it's 24" by 36")... they sleep in the front half and the back half has a pee pad....there is also food and water in it... I don't think they would have it any other way!!!!

| On a regular basis, I do not put mine in the same crate. But, I have done it enough so that when they HAVE to go to the doggie hotel, they can stay together in a large crate. They keep each other company when Momma's gone.
