Donating YT 14K Club Member | Have any of you had to deal with... Fright/Flight syndrome? It may not be worded exactly that but I've heard and seen of yorkies that around 5-7 months of age, get real scared especially around people that they don't know or haven't seen in a while. They may run and hide or act like they are scared (rolling over on back, ears down, etc.) Has anyone ever experienced this with their yorkie or other breed of dog?

| Abby does this with us sometimes and we are not strangers. If she knows she's done something wrong...like trying to run out the door or something, she rolls over on her back. |

| Both of mine LOVE people...we have the opposite problem in my house. Funny though Remmy loves strangers but could care less for our kids. He can take them or leave them. Chance being a puppy loves EVERYONE. I have seen yorkies that are like that and more than likely the just need to be exposed to people or the person that they are afraid of more. We have alot of traffic in our house with our kids who have kids over and we have friends over alot also. Might just need some socialization being around more people. |

| Jewels does this she will either hide or roll over on her back. She is my more nervous yorkie.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | The reason why I ask is that one of my pups has always been a little more timid. Well, now, this pup will come when called but at the same time, will roll over, or act like it's been abused. I am not into spanking furbabies. I don't know if it's because they hear me fussing at the kids or the older dogs when they dig in the bathroom trash can but it's gotten me concerned. Now, they should grow out of this, right?

| This actually happened to me with my uncle's dog. He is the sweetest dog and never bit anyone...but one day I can home (when I was living with my parents). Psilo was over there. I came in the door and went downstairs. He must have forgotten who I was b/c he hid between the chair and end table. I went to pet him on the head, and he jumped up and bit (not hard, but just wrapped his teeth around my hand, but didn't break any skin). I guess that was his way of protecting my mom and warning me that if I try anything slick again, I was really going to get bit.

| Oh, BTW..it's fight or flight. Stay and face the music, or run away. It's an adrenaline rush.

| Timi dogs are more inclined to bite out of fear. So I believe it is very important to try to reassure her and expose her to more people and situations. But let her meet people from the safety of your arms until she starts to feel comfortable around them. |
