| Maybe I'm not ment to have a dog... Hello YT Friends, as many of you know, I was super excited to get my little Lola this week. The thing is, it is Friday and I still do not have her! I'm so bumbed and feeling lonely so I thought I'd tell you all my story. I have been wanting to get a dog of my own for a while, but I knew that I would be moving to Kansas City so I put it off. When we got here, my (ex)fiance convinced me that our apartment was too small, we didnt have time, ect ect so we got a guinea pig instead. I love my little Peanut, who thinks he is a dog, but its not the same. Well, 4 months ago my fiance who is an Iraqi Freedom veteran decides that he can not live in the US anymore and up and leaves, moving to Germany. We haven't lived in KC very long so I do not know many people and get pretty lonely and so now I really want my precious furbaby. I know that being lonely isn't a good reason, but I had wanted her for a long time and now there was nobody to stop me. Well, I do some research and decide that I'm going to get a Yorkie and start looking around. Of course I fall in love with this puppy I find online and start communicating with the owner for a few weeks and make plans. He had told me that she was nearby, but then, all of a sudden he wants me to wire money to cameroon......I'm sure that you have all heard of that one and thankfully I didn't fall for that one. I'm bumbed for a while, and begin my search again. I tried to be really careful when looking for a breeder and eventually decided to go with a woman who is a vet, was recommended by a member here, and turned out to know one of my friends. I went down with my friend to pick up her maltese that she got from this breeder and met her. She seemed nice and I told her I was very interested. She even brought out 2 week old Yorkies for me to hold. I stay in contact with this women. She does not want a deposit "because I'm Amber's friend" and tells me that the puppies will be ready for me to pick up on my spring break (which is this week) and to call her to see how they are doing. So I called on Saturday morning, then I called again Thursday night, leaving messages both times and I still have no little Lola. I was SO excited this week and have already bought a TON of stuff for her. I can understand if she needs more time with her mommy. Her health is very important to me, but I would sure appreciate a phone call! I even started looking through the classifieds today. That $500 mom and pop Yorkie is sure starting to look good..... Sorry this is so long! But I feel better just getting all of my frustrations out. Maybe she'll call tomorrow..... Last edited by uabutterfly; 03-24-2006 at 09:48 PM. |

| Why don't you get your friend to get in touch with her for you? Since she said she didn't need the deposit because you were a friend of Amber's maybe Amber could remind her of your friendship!!?? |

| So sorry to read your story! I hope and pray you'll get a call back soon. She sounds pretty reliable since she knows your friend. Maybe something came up in her life that has kept her from being able to deal with the puppies right now. Best wishes to you and I hope to one day, very soon, come on YT and see a thread entitled, "I got my Lola!" Hugs to you!!!

| Thanks Ladies, you are so sweet!. I did think that something might have happened to her and I hope that everything is okay. Then I got to thinking that the last time I called her to try to finalize the plans (I am not driving this woman crazy, we have only spoke maybe 5 times) she didn't return my call for a week so perhaps she is not very good with the phone..... If I do not hear after this weekend I may ask Amber to remind her. Thanks again! |

I'm sure she is just busy and hasn't gotten back to you. If she's a vet she could be gone a lot. But there are a lot of yorkies out there, so if you don't get this one just keep looking. | |

| There is nothing in the world than to be searching for something for so long. I know exactly how you feel when I was searching for my little babe girl I went through tons and tons of ads and breeders trying to con you for your money telling you to wire money to them and so on and so on. I hope that you are able to get your little Lola this week or atleast a phone call to see how they are doing and check to see if it was a delay in them being released from their mama. I will cross my fingers for you and wish you the best of luck. Im not sure of where you live @ but what is the price range you are looking to pay? I know of some places that has yorkies... Pm me here and I'll let you know the info. Take care keep us posted... Sincerely, Babe Girl * Mommy Quote:

| No worries about the long post. Its good that you have somewhere to vent. I hope that they return your call. If not, there are plenty of YTers here that have puppies! Good luck!

| Don't worry. I would give it maybe a few more days. We put a deposit down on Chloe to make sure she would not be sold to anyone else. And our breeder only lives about 5 miles away. I wanted to visit with Chloe as much as possible to get bonded with her. But, our breeder was very hard to reach. We would call her and usually never get an answer. I started to get a little paranoid. It would be over a week before we would get a call back. She was just extremly busy. I only got to see her twice before bringing her home. Once when she was 9 days old. Again when she was 5 weeks. And then again of course when we went pick her up from the breeders to bring her home. I been having her for about a month and half and I think it is a little strange that the breeder has not called us since to check up on her. I did send her an update with an e-mail. But, she never responded back. I forgot to tell you what happened before we got Chloe. I was going to get a yorkie puppy from another breeder nearby. Also about 5 miles away. She had 2 litters of puppies due the first week of December. Well, she never called us to tell us the puppies were born. And we were waiting around like crazy for 2 weeks not knowing what was going on. My dad finally had enough and called her again for the 3rd time to know the status of the puppies. And she told him on the phone that both litters did not make it. If that was the case, I think she had the right to tell potential buyers about it. It was cruel making us wait around for 2 weeks for nothing. If I ever decide to get another yorkie, I will not be going to her. She promised us a puppy in April, but I am glad I already got Chloe. Because I am not taking that chance again.

| Thank you to everyone for your support. I'm sorry for the confusion. Tasha's mom has it correct. I visited the puppies a while ago, they are 9 weeks now. I had spoken to many other breeders in the process but I really liked getting a puppy from her because she is a vet and feel that she would have the dog's best interest at heart. I've heard of people lying about the pups age and denying it water just so that it was small and more desirable TO SOME. *Ok, so just as I was tying this message she called and said that she would like to keep the puppies a week longer because one of them is "a little hypoglycemic". I totally understand this and thanked her for watching out for her for me. Hopefully I will be writting to you all next weekend telling you how wonderful she is and sending baby pictures! Best Wishes to all! Sarah |
