| Ears Doing Something Weird We got Hudson a month ago and he is now 5 months old (he's a pure breed). When we first got him his ears would always stick up straight (we never taped them, maybe the seller did). From time to time one or both of his ears would flop down, but eventually they'd both go back up. For the last week or so his right ear seems to constantly stay up while is left ear is constantly down. This is kind of freaking us out. What does this mean? Is something wrong with him? We like his ears up like before, especially since other Yorkie owners we've come across seem to be impressed by them. Plus we saw this one Yorkie whose ears were both down we were turned off by that look. |

| I think it is cute when they have one ear up one down. Since they have both been up before the ear most likely will go back up on its own. They sometimes go down when they are teething.

| I, too, like the one up/one down look! I kindof missed it when Joey's ears started staying up all the time. In addition to teething, I believe ear infections can cause an ear to flop.

| When I first got Bella (a lil over two weeks ago) her right ear was always flopped down and her left straight up. I took advice from some of the various threads on her about shaving the upper portion and it worked! Her ear now stands up. But now, LOL, her other ear is flopping down. Guess I gotta shave that one too! |

| Don't worry, everything is fine. That just gives him more personality. You can call that his signature look.

| At about 4 months my dog was in the beginning stages of teething. One ear flopped down, then the other one did too. This on lasted a couple of weeks, now at 9 months both of his ears stand up. |

| One of my yorkies started out with both ears up, and then one flopped down...but it never came back up!! She is 3.5 years old now. Every once in a while, she'll hear something and put both of them up. Not to be alarmed...it's perfectly natural!! I am sure you will love you're little one whether her ears are up, down, or no ears at all! Here is a pic...the first yorkie has one up and one down.....the second has both up.......and the third has both down!!!!! They are ALL cute! |

| It looks like a few people have already said this, but this does happen (according to my vet) while a dog is teething and could last up to 12 months of age.

| Keep The Hair Shaved Off The Ears! If you want them to stand. Even doing that they can go down during teething.

I don't think cute is a good enough word to describe them they are all adorable!!!! I love the floppied ear look I think it's great. I am sure your babies ear will go back up but like one person said if not that just gives him personality.
