| Coat color Bobby is six months and I'm seeing some gray hairs in his black coat when I brush him. Does this mean he's getting his adult coat and it's going to be "blue?" When do they get their new coat? Julie |

| I have heard that Yorkies can change colors for several years before their coat color is final. Oscar is 18 months old and is still getting silver in his black back coat. I did see a major change in him at 6 months. I guess it is different with each dog but they do seem to change for a long time...at least mine is! No matter what color they are...If Oscar was purple with pink polka dots I would still love him!

| I read in a book that I have that yorkies will reach their true coat color by 2 years of age. But, my family's yorkies have continued to change ever so slightly even after 2 years. But they pretty much had their true color by 2 years. |
