| Finally Got My Baby(s) Hi All. I'm pretty new to yorkie talk, but have been looking for a yorkie for about 4 to 5 months now. I looked all around and had even considered buying one off the internet, until I read the horror stories about the breeder I was going to get one from. While I was waiting, I have been reading all the books and articles I can and reading the posts on Yorkietalk. Yesterday I read an ad in the paper for yorkie puppies in a town about 2 1/2 hours away. I was so excited when the breeder said she still had puppies left. I made arrangements to pick up the only female of the litter this morning for $550 dollars. The breeder said she will probably be standard size as mom is 6 and 1/2 lbs and Dad is 3 1/2 and she was actually the biggest of the litter. When I got there, the others had been sold except for her and one little boy (the runt of the litter, he's about 1/2 the size of his sister, who is a little on the roly poly side ). To make a long story short.......I couldn't stand it and I had to have him too!! He was $450. My husband was a little suprised when I came home with two yorkies, but he was excited too!! We named them Romeo & Juliet. Two pics of them in their bed are posted below. We just wanted to share our good news with everyone. By the way, our puppies are only CKC registered, but that is okay for the price we paid right? They're worth every penny to us.

| OMG They are adorable! Such cute names too CKC or AKC Registration shouldn't matter if the dogs are only going to be pets. The only time registration matters, imo, is when you intend on showing or breeding Awesome deal too! |

| Thank you Hi Guys! Thanks for all the kind words. You all are very nice. I know we're going to love having them both, and they will both enjoy each other's company. They are asleep now. I think all the excitement wore them out......I kinda feel like I could use a nap too.... I'm glad you like their names.....My husband suggested Beauty & Beast, but since the little boy is 1/2 the size of his sister, I thought that might be a little odd... plus I didn't think Beast suited such a cute little puppy. We don't plan to do anything with them but keep them as pets. By the way, since they are the opposite sex, does anyone know how soon you need to neuter/spay them?

| Your female won't have her first heat untill 7th month. This is what I was told anyway, I have a male and a female. I'm gonna get Chachi neutered at 6 months. I'm gonna wait on my female in case she needs some teeth pulled I can at least get hers done at the same time.

| Tara! You made a great decision from what I can tell! What breeder did you get them from again? We need to publicize all the "good" breeders we can so we can have alternatives to the puppymills. Romeo and Juliet are great names! So creative. When were they born and how much do they weigh? Did you see the mom and dad? They look so cute asleep together in their little bed! You will make a great mommy! Congratulations! |
