| Kiwi is getting fat!! Well not obese, but she definately has a little belly on her. It's only concentrated on her belly. Am I feeding her too much?? I don't have a set schedule, I just feed her every few hours. She used to eat small portions about 4-5 times a day I now feed her 3-4 times a day -- 1 handful of dry food twice, and about 1 handful of wet food twice. Is this too much?!! I've heard of dogs at 18months taking 4 days to eat 1 cup of food!! edit: i try to walk her at least twice a day and I take her to the park to run with her around every other day. | I Have The Opposite Problem... I can't get Bugaboo to gain enough wait. He is so active on his own. My other adult dogs get fed twice daily and only dry (with the exception of pregnant and nusring moms).

| Thank you Yorkiepassion is an awesome site, I found it 20minutes ago and was reading up on coat colors ;} I will try cutting down her meals slowly until I find a point where she is eating healthily. Maybe it's just in her genes. |

| How old is Kiwi? At 12 weeks 4 times daily is ample.Sounds as if she is getting plenty of exercise. Can you still feel her ribs a little? Then she isn't too fat. You will be the envy of many(including myself)who have picky eaters! My pup is 18 weeks and eats about 3x daily.Amounts are hard to gauge.About a small handful x2 and chicken/mince of a raw chicken neck for dinner is what she eats. How much does she weigh? The packet of food will tell you how much she should be eating. |
