Great thread. We have had 4 yorkies over the last 20 years. The first one Candy was the black & tan. We had to have her put to sleep when she was 12 or 13. Then Bailey was kind of Salt& Pepper/Tan poor guy got run over when he was only 2 or 3. Nine years later we got Mollie she is mostly black with some silver/tan. Wyatt is only 7 months old but I think he is going to be the color of his daddy Silver/Tan. His hair only has about 2 -3 inches of black on it now and that's on the ends.

| My family has had 3 Yorkies in the past. The first was Winston (7lbs)who was a beautiful silver/tan boy, he had to be put to sleep when he was 13 because he had gone blind and deaf, had severe allergies, incontinent, and was completely miserable . Then three years ago we got Tuckerman! He is black and a very red tan, weighs about 11 lbs. and is the smartest puppy we've had yet! On October 1st last year we got Tripp! He is cotton coated silver and tan. Tripp is such a sweetie! And I can't wait to have more Yorkies in the future!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali is my fourth. She is Black and gold so far. First I had Karma back in 1970 who weighed 16 lbs, floppy ears, short coat and he was gray and tan lived to 13 years of age. Then I got Zorro who was black and gold and weighed 7 lbs and lived until he was almost 13 years old then Gracie who was real silver and tan who weighed 6 lbs and died an untimely death at 6 1/2 years old from complications of a collapsed Trachea.

| Sorry I wanted to add more detail. My first one 13 years ago was 7 pounds, silver/blue and tan, her name was Taffy. She had a liver problem so her coat was always very dry. We had to put her down at the age of 3. The second one Sparky, was 5 1/2 pounds, black and tan, We lost her a few months ago, at the age of 9 1/2, not sure what the cause of death was, she was drinking excessivly and not eating, she was not diabetic, but had infections that would not go away. And Ollie is still a baby, so her color is black and tan at this point. |
