| A little Sad... I’m a little bummed out. My Maddie doesn’t give kisses, nor does she get excited when I come home from work. We’ve had her for almost 3 weeks. She’s going to be 11 weeks old on Friday. It kind of makes me sad. She’s more excited to see our cat then she is to see us. When she sees Jasper our cat her little tail (nub) wags so fast. Do you think she will ever be excited to see us? Will she ever give kisses?? I want kisses gosh darn it! |

| I've had Dezi for 4 weeks now and she is still excited to see us. I wouln't know what to do if she stops because I look forward to it. I work all day, maybe that is why she gets excited. I hope your baby goes back to her old ways and gives you lots of kisses. |

| hmmmm my babies all get excited when I play or call out 'Treat Treat' but when my husband comes home..... they are all crashed out in the sofa and not even lifting a head to greet him. But they greet people on the weekends when I have people over.... I think it might be the time of day which is their down time. Mind you my yorkies have each other so they are never bored waiting for attention. Maybe you should keep treats with you so you can give her something right when you walk in....... Good Luck! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Don't fret. Eddie went through the same thing, and he slowly but surely became more affectionate. By 1 year, he was a little love bug. As for getting excited when you get home, you may be doing this already, but make your coming home a big event in her life. Walk in the door with an animated voice and give hugs and kisses. Then take a few minutes out to play with her favorite toy. Once she gets used to that, she'll be yapping at the window every time you come home. Sometimes it takes a little time, too, if they have been sleeping all day. I'm not exactly wagging my tail when I wake up from a long nap either.

| Desi was very stand-offish when we first got her at 12 weeks. It was almost like she didn't care about us unless we had food in our hands. But, as she became older she started to change. Now, at one year old she is completely different. If I leave her for a few minutes even to go downstair to the laundry room, she greets me like I've just come home from being gone all day. And, talk about wet doggy kisses... I have more than I know what to do with !!

| Bailey was like that, he never comes, he gets excited, but runs right by you, no hugs, no jumping ( which is good) no kisses, BUT he goes to work with me so he doesn't get to miss me much, which took me awhile to figure that out, when I leave, and come back he's like " Oh you're back already?" But in the last 6 months he has become more of a cuddler than he ever was before. They are all different. He is independent. (or so he thinks)

| Thank you all for your posts. It gives me a little hope that my baby will eventually love me. I feel so rejected...LOL! She doesn't even like sleeping with me. She prefers her crate. Oh, sad story... Here I am pining for her attention. Shouldn't it be the other way around? LOL!!! I'm so pathetic. |

| are males more affectionate then females? I thought i heard someone say that once... or more independent? I have males the older one is 3 he is happy to see us when we come home. The baby french kisses everyone who will let him. When I come home from work I always walk in with a happy voice talking to them...they are always so excited. However the older one has calmed down quite a bit since he was a pup. |

| My Stormy was a little stand-offish when we first got him over a year ago. Now he is always VERY excited to see us when we arrive home. Also, he used to prefer sleeping in his crate rather than with us. For the past couple of months, though, he has discovered just how nice it is to sleep in Mommy & Daddy's comfortable bed. |

| LOL Sorry to laugh, but give it some time, soon Maddie will let you sleep in HER bed, they are small, but a king size bed just isn't big enough. and you will have so many kisses, you will laugh at this post.
