| Feeding problems Bobby flat-out refuses to eat his puppy food -- I've tried two different brands, Nutro and now Merrick, and he wants nothing to do with it. He insists on eating the others' adult Nutro. I've tried mixing in the canned Nutro puppy food and he wants nothing to do with that, either, and won't touch it. (Funny thing is that even my other dogs don't like the Merrick and they eat everything.) The other problem is that Bobby overeats and then throws up an hour or so later. He eats constantly and it's just too much! I think if I could just get him to eat puppy food it would be easier for him to digest and he probably wouldn't overeat. I know he doesn't have parasites or anything wrong since he was just at the vet and had a fecal test. He's full of energy, happy and doing well but the overeating and throwing up can't be good for him! Suggestions???? Julie |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I had trouble with Kloey not wanting to eat when I first got her so I had to hand feed her, I would just put a few bites in my hand and she would eat for me like that, a couple weeks later I would put the food in my hand and she would smell it then I put it in her bowl and she ate it. She never threw up though. |

| Maybe your pup just wants to eat what the older dogs do. If that's the case then maybe you could try Innova "Evo". When I went to the pet food outlet in town, the owner told me that is a puppy and dog food. He said most people buy it that have different ages of dogs and don't want to buy three different kinds of dog food. He said it's one of the top of the line dog foods and it's balanced for any age dog. Just a suggestion. Crystal

| yougetthesmiles, I tried that and it was a no-go. He'd take the food and then spit it out! Wow, he does NOT like the Merrick food. My collie doesn't, either, and he eats everything! The only one who will eat it is my bulldog and she's not overly enthusiastic about it. What a waste of $10! Crystal, That's excellent -- I'll look for that food! Is it as good as Nutro? My collie has allergies and has been doing great on Nutro so I wouldn't want to see the allergies come back. Julie |

| Yea, the place I went to had both nutro and Innova. He recommended the Innova over the nutro. Crystal

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Kloey would not eat the Merrick food either, I had a free sample and she snubbed her nose at it. She eats Royal Canin for Yorkshire Terriers, and in the morning I give her wet food, I started her on the canned eukanuba and she really likes it, I take her dry food (1TBS) and 1 Large tsp of canned and a few drops of warm water (makes a gravy) and mix it together, and she goes to town on it. Really you just have to experiment, I know it can be costly to do that, cause if they don't eat it then your out, you may go to the pet store and ask them if they have any samples you can try, if they don't I would call Royal Canin and ask them if they can send you a sample to try. It's worth a shot! Let us know what happens. |
