personalities wow! I have 2 Yorkies and my female, Lady is very timid and loves my lap... I didn't get her till she was 6 mths old and the breeder loved to spray perfume on her and didn't brush her much... She also barks when she hears a strange noise, which is good. My male, Sprocket is very energetic and loves to play. He steals anything that hits the floor and flies to the nearest hiding place. He can't sit still and isn't afraid of anything, however has never barked in his life. Can 2 dogs be any different? Sprocket wants to play with Lady so bad but she really dosen't want anything to do with him and she lets him know but He's kinda dumb (as some boys are) and a little horney and dosen't get her hints. Should I step in and separate them or let them work it out? He likes to lick her ears and she loves it so in some ways they are romatic... any stories, suggestions, personality funnies? please share.

Have your babies been neutered/spayed? If so, I don't see any harm in letting them interact. Dogs are social animals... I wish I had the time to devote to two babies! If I do, I would definitely get my Frankie a sister!

I have a 6.5 month boy (3lb) and I just got a little 3 month old girl (2 lb)last weekend. They are just getting acquainted and, being all boy, he can be a little rough with her and she lets him know it!! It is precious to watch him beg for her to pay attention to him and play. I was watching them yesterday and Chai, the female, found a piece of bread crust in the dog carrier. She started chewing on it and Hefner saw it and immediately went over and took it away, as he does with anything she becomes interested in. He took it to his bed and began to chew on it hoping she would come over and try to get it back. She just sat there looking at him. A few minutes later he got up and brought what was left, a tiny crumb, and dropped it at her feet. She was tickled and began to play with it, tossing it into the air and chasing it. He then grabbed it, ate it and walked away!!

No they aren't fixed because I was planning on breeding them (for friends and family) however my female is small at only 3lbs so I want to get her checked out at the vet first.. Friday. My male is only 3lbs 7oz so he's not much bigger but I don't want to hurt her in anyway. Her next heat isn't for another 5 months so I have time to figure out the spaying thing and I was planning on waiting till she is 18 months anyway. They've only known each other a week so maybe they are just getting to know each others boundries? i don't know I just don't want them to hurt each other. I've done the time out thing so she can get away for a while but i think this may be one of those things that take a while. I've read other threads about yorkies getting along with big dogs and never thought another yorkie would be a problem since Sproket isn't jealose or territorial. Any tips?

Too Small to Breed? I don't think it's safe to Breed such small dogs? Have you spoken to your Vet.? Your Female sounds like she would have problems carrying and giving birth to a full litter? She could have complications? Usually the female is larger than the male. Besides Breeding is very complicated it's not just based on size. Not to sound negative, there is just alot of responsibility involved. I would let the 2 of them interact and work it out themselves. I have a 1 year and 3 month old male and just this past Monday I got a 7 week old female the first day was rough but now they're fine. I trust my male completely! They need to socialize together especially since they're in the same house. Good Luck!

I just got back from the vet and we weighed them again and he is now 4lbs 4oz and she is 3lbs 1oz. but they are still only 6mths old and he said that females tend to get a small growth spurt around 7-8 months old so we will have to see and hopefully my male slows down the growing... I will get all this checked again before breeding. However she has great health, good bones and great temperment for breeding, but that ship is a long way off and nothing is in stone. I really wanted to know if anyone had any difficulties with having dogs with such different personallities. I feel I got the best of both worlds with one that cuddles and one that is playful and energetic. They've only known each other a week but get along for the most part but sometimes they really go at it and I was wondering if they should be separated when they are not able to be supervised. I don't want to come home from work and find one beeding or something. Am I just overreacting?
