| Ear Positions..... My little guy has three ways that he carries his ears. Straight up - Whenever he's running around, watching something, interacting with someone, or curious about anything. They are this way most of the time. Laid back like a rabbit - My pup would never turn down meeting anyone or a new dog (in fact, he is so excited he almost can't stand it and wiggles so much I almost can't hold him) but - this is when in his own "submissive little way" his ears are laid back just like a little rabbit's. It's very cute, but they don't stay this way for long. Out Sideways - There are times when I look at him and think that he has absolutely nothing on his brain at all - and he's decided to just "rest his ears." Of course, if anything gets his attention - up they go! If you think about it - you can tell a lot about what your Yorkie is doing or thinking - just by looking at his ears. Carol Jean |

| Well, I don't think I have seen the straight out sideways but I have seen up and back. Yes, you are right, look at the ears and how big their eyes are and you can tell what is going on in that brain , add to that body stance! |

| My dog's don't go straight out sideways - just halfway between being straight up or straight sideways. He has huge ears, so I tell myself that he just has to rest them occasionally. Carol Jean |

| Well, I guess KimMee has smaller ears cause hers really only go up or back. It sounds like you get much more expression with his ears. Now decipher the code for out sideways!! |

| Expressive Ear Positions I was concerned that my 7 month old Reagan's ears were never going to stand up but then - about 6 weeks ago - it was as if someone flipped a switch and now the only time that they are down is when he is just waking up from a long sleep and is stretching. Rarely one of his ears will flop, and I have never seen them do the "sideways" position, but he will lay them flat out towards the back when my kids or a guest comes over to the house and he is greeting them. This is my first Yorkie and I am learning a lot - never realized that their ears could be so expressive. Gina |

| my two do all the above with their ears, and they also rotate them ever so slightly so one ear is listening to the front and one ear is listening behind them. It is really funny.

| My Elvis' ears do all of that except the sideways position. We laugh at his ears and call them radar ears because they seem to turn when he's listening.

Yorkie Yakker | i absolutely love how expressive they are with their ears. it's the cutest thing! whenever Moses is super-excited (usually when new people arrive or when he sees us come home from work) his ears go wayyyyy back and he's wiggling all around like he just can't contain himself. there are times when one ear turns sideways and the other goes a little back. it's a weird one and he seems to do it when he's trying to figure something out like he's confused. lol

| I think their ears are one of the cutest things on these little buggers... Coopers does those things too. Sometimes when he is "hell bent on doing something usually naughty, his ears will lay back like a bunny. Too funny My kids think when they lay out straight he looks like Yoda. or sometimes Gizmo. Too funny thanks for sharing

So if you get this SnowWa, you probably don't know who I am, but I always loved reading what you had to say, and please come back to YorkieTalk.
