| Question Regarding Buying Your Yorkie w/o Seeing Her/Him Hi All, I know there are a lot of people who look at puppies from a breeder's website, pick a pup, and send a deposit via Paypal and such. I was just wondering how many of you have ever done this? The reason I ask is I see SOOOOO many cute on websites, but am afraid to buy one without seeing him/her. Please know that I'm not trying to start a debate over what is right or wrong. I just want to know people who've had good or bad experiences. Thanks!!

| I got my girl from a broker. I had several problems with her all along. I did see her when I purchase her. She was in the witches home with other puppies. I can't imagine what problems could arise with buying or putting down money on a puppy that one can't see. I think that is not very convinient and one runs many risks going about in this way. |

I just knew Matt was going to get his own! When a man talks to a dog and sounds like Betty Boop, he's totally hooked and in LOVE!

| I purchased a pet from a breeder's website. It wasn't a Yorkie but they could do the same thing. The photo on the website was fixed so that the breeder covered up a major fault that the pet had. The breeder was not truthful about personality either. I would need lots of references regarding the breeder. Also I have not had a good experience with having an animal shipped. The airline delayed the animal 14 hours and told me that luggage is priority over live animals. |

| Nicole I Have Your Solution... I have a Yorkie that lives in Trenton, NJ his name is Taco. His owner flew here to So. Cal and waited here until he was old enough to go on the plane with her. So Come On Down! lane:

| I bought both of mine without seeing them. The breeder was 2 hours form my house so I just talked to her about the pups she had and had her hold them for me.

| I have the same concerns over purchasing a puppy sight unseen. Yet I am planning to get one from a breeder in California. I guess you have to be comfortable with the reputation of the breeder. If they are showing dogs, I guess I would feel more comfortable buying them without seeing them, and references would definitely be a plus. But when I see posts where someone has had to scrape to get together a load of money to buy a puppy from a breeder in a different area of the country and take the risk of getting an unsound animal, when there are breeders in their area that would probably sell for less, I have to wonder why. If you are looking for a specific bloodline to add to your breeding program, that is one thing, but if all you want is a pet, why would you take the risk? Not to say that a pet is not worth it, but if it's going to be spayed/neutered, does it matter what his bloodlines are? |

| I am purchasing my first on-line puppy. I sent a deposit, but will be picking her up myself (a 12 hour drive) in a couple of weeks. I am really nervous about it being a scam so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have talked to her on the phone, but I am a pretty trusting person. I recently read an email scam someone had posted which copies all the various emails, and I couldn't believe all the details the scammer went through! Well I am not buying from Nigeria or Africa so I hope all will turn out well, but you never know. I definitely think it is a risky situation for a lot of reasons. |
