| Really Frustrated !!!!!! OK I posted a thread earlier this week about Tank being way to rough with Lucy. www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33759 - YorkieRose gave some advise of Bitter apple spray. Well it's not working... Tank doesn't even care if she has it on her, he is still trampling her. I feel like if things don't get better by this weekend then I'm going to have to give up Tank. I love him to death but I just can't sit and watch him hurt my Lucy. Has anyonelse been through this... Will it work out if I just give it a little more time?? Crystal

| More time might be it. I sure hope Lucy is OK. Hang in there, and please keep us posted.

| I would hate for you to have to give up Tank. Try talking to the vet. Maybe they would know something that we don't. And also try the Cayenne Pepper. That sounds like a great idea. Does he get punished if he gets around Lucy?? I haven't read your other thread. If you haven't tried punishing him, try swatting him with an empty paper towel roll when he gets near her. It doesn't hurt him, but it makes a loud sound that will startle him. And also shout "NO" when you swat him. Let us know how it works out! I hate that you are having to go through this! |

| I was putting him in his crate everytime he would start getting to rough. It's not helping. As soon as I open the crate he takes after Lucy. He's not being mean he's just wanting to play and he's to big and rough. I'll try the cayne pepper thing. (are you sure it ok for them??? I was thinking it may be to hot, and what if lucy licks herself) thanks, Crystal

| Hello It sounds like he has alot of energy he needs to burn off. You might want to try getting him out alone and taking him on a walk to wind him down some. Or you could spend time with just him playing to get rid of some of his energy. Then bring her out by then he should be a little tired and maybe not so apt to be so rowdy with her. I also would defenitely take both of them to some puppy classes that way they both can learn some commands. He needs to be taught to listen to what you say. I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of him just yet, he's still a puppy and puppies are rowdy. He will mellow out as he gets older. I would also have all of their playtime supervised until you can trust that they will be nice to each other. Beleive it or not when she gets older 5 lbs or not she will put him in his place. One more thing I would be careful as to not play favorites (i'm not saying you are) because it could lead him to be jealous of her and therefore cause him to not WANT to be nice to her. Good luck. I know it's hard when you have two babies you love and they just won't behave lol... |

| What kind of puppy is Tank? I think it is an excellent idea to try to wear him out with some exercise first. I love to watch the Dog Whisperer and he seems to think that dogs are more cooperative when they have gotten rid of some of that pent up energy. |

| Try throwing some balls...that is what I do with my two to burn off some energy. Remmy is a yorkie but I think that he has part retreiver in him. He will fetch a ball and bring it back and he learned how to drop the ball on command. Then I don't have to chase the ball |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | This may sound funny, but when I'm exercising Kloey loves to be down there with me, I have found that she goes nuts when I start playing with my weight ball, it's 5 pounds and big as a basketball, but my daughter and I will roll it back and forth and she just goes nuts trying to get that ball, just becareful cause the ball is bigger then her |
