| Time for a new vet. I'm not so happy right now. I called my vet this morning because tasha hadn't got up at all since her c-section. So I called and asked should i be worried or encourage her to go potty. He said leave her be let her do what she wants. Well later on this afternoon she still hadn't got up to go potty so I called back and told them. The secretary asked if she was alert. I said yes very much so. She ate really good has been drinking really good and is acting good so should i leave her be or try to encourage her to go to the bathroom. She said hold on one min. She got back on the phone and said she talked to the vet and he said if i'm so concerned for my dog bring her in really hateful. I said I'm not worried she's not o.k. she doesn't want to leave her puppies so should i make her. The lady said her exact words "like I said I told the vet your situation and he said if your so concerned for your dog bring her in" still talking hateful to me. I told her well that doesn't help me at all..i told her I don't think she is in any distress or anything is wrong all i wanted to know is will i harm her by moving her she said no..so i said thank you and bye she said nothing and actually hung up on me.. there is more..last night this same vet told me not to bring my dog in that she was fine she would make it and have the pups..he said the pups probably would die but she'd be just fine..i said i don't want the pups to die..he said fine bring her in..he was mad about it. He was also rude during the c-section..i stood in and helped him with the c-section and the whole time he is slamming on me and to boot he charged me way more than he normally charges for an emergency c-section..which upset me because he didn't even call in anyone to help him..he brought his wife so me my husband and my daughter all helped..i did anestesia and they worked on the pups..HOW RUDE of him to be like that to us. So I think it's best I find a new vet..what do you think? |

| OMG...that's horrible. I've only had a vet for two years since that is when I got my first animal ever, but that is just not right! My vet is wonderfully caring and gentle (to me and my dog). I'm sorry you had to endure that, along with being worried about your dog and her pups. If I were you, I would certainly look elsewhere for care. That is just so wrong and unnecessary. Good luck, and please let us all know how mom and puppies are doing!

| Change vets immediatly! I would never tolerate someone acting like that to me that is so rude! And for him to tell you that the pups would probably die but the mom would be ok...What is he thinking!

| I think that you already know in your heart that it's time to find a new vet. When he became a vet it was to help save animals lives.. Not to say, "Oh, well the puppies might die.." That is absurd!! |

| WAY Beyond Rude If I were you, I would first of all, find a new vet. Then I would bit*h slap that vet and all of his office staff!!! That would have made me so mad I probably would have taken out a page of the local newspaper and told the town what an ass he was. He had NO right to give you the impression that the pups would probably die! And then to have the nerve to say that "if you're so concerned, bring her in"!!!! Wellllll excuse me!! Isn't that what the vet is for. I mean it's not like it was Christmas Day, or any other hoilday for that matter. It was more than likely his golf time and he didn't want to be late! (Apology to all golfers!) People with attitudes like that should not be allowed to have any dealings with the public. And if it was just the fact that he had been having a bad day....SO WHAT!?!?! I'm quite sure your little girl was having a bad day too!! Things like this really PMO!!! Suz

| i've had this vet for years I really don't understand why he was that way..iv'e been seeing him for years and i mean years will for about 13 years and i've given him way more of my money than you can imagine.. I am defenitely switching vets. I can't tolerate that. i am not rude so he had no right.. I also forgot to mention that i did make her go outside and she ran around pottied and she is fine.. You know some vets and people think that the majority of us shouldn't breed and I feel that is why he was that way. I don't show my dogs. I dont want to show my dogs. I don't knock those that do but my feelings on showing are dif from what people that show are. It doesn't mean that I don't take the same steps in breeding and producing quaility pups as they do cause i did. It's just not what i choose to do. I don't knock them but i guarantee they knock us..i hope i didn't offend anyone it wasn't my intent it's just what my vet and a few have made me feel. Now i am on the hunt to find a new vet..hopefully there is a good one out there not too far from me. wish me luck.. |

| I would be livid with that vet. You definetly dont want to deal with someone like that, it sounds like he doesnt even have your dog or the pups interest in mind which is what I would require and expect from any vet. He sounds burnt out and I think he should get out of the business. You should find a new vet. I hope Tasha is all right and I cant wait to see the pups

| It's hard to believe that story about a vet.... Anyway - I had a cat that wouldn't leave her kittens, and on the third day, I finally just picked her up and took her outside where she did go to the bathroom. And - I even handfed her for a day or two while she nursed - plus held water for her. She just didn't want to leave her kittens. I'm sure she would have eventually, but I wonder when...??? I'm sure I did the right thing - I think she needed a little encouragement. Of course, everything worked out just fine. She had six huge healthy kittens, and she continued to be a wonderful mother for as long as we had them. Carol Jean |
