| Is your Pup Named after a Sports Team or Player? We have a new member with a pup named Buckeye. I was wondering how many of your babies are named after sports teams. Do we have a Raider? Bruin? Crimson Tide? Army? Navy? Packer? Laker? Yankee? Montana? Magic? Babe? Giambi? Pele? Let's bring them all together Sports Fans! If it's obscure, please give an explain.

| Well - my sons middle name is Payne - after Payne Stuart - a golf player, I let my husband pick his middle name and he is a sports freak. Just this morning he was telling whenever we get another boy his name will be Hokie Lane - for Virginia Tech football and Lane stadium where they play!! Practically his whole family went there and they are all obsessed! |

I had a goat named Malone after Toderick Malone, UA running back, early 90s. I had fish named Barker, Palmer and Gene, and birds named Joe (as in Namath) and Bear (as in Bryant). Plus, my deceased bird Piper would say "Roll Tide" and "touchdown." A mother and daughter bought Trixie's two girls...they are avid NY Yankees fans and named them Mattingly (Mattie) and Jeter. | |

| A pitcher? Huh...never knew that. Interesting...thanks! I know there was a comic book character named Flash Gordon...wore orange and green...which is why we decided "Gordy" since Flash is a girl and all. Yes, my 5 yr old daughter loves Jeff Gordon. We were Gordon fans anyway, but she didn't care until her little Gordon-loving "boyfriend" in class brought her a necklace...that pretty much did it. |

| My dog is named after an X-men character. However, my mom has been naming her new horses after olympic atheletes. We have Bodie Miller (who was born last year when he was still good), Ted Lickadee, and Shasha Cowen. One of the cats on the farm is named Chipper after Chipper Jones.

| yup . . . .my Tiger is actually named after Tiger Woods as my DH is very much into golf. At the time I was not too thrilled with the name but after a few days of calling my yorkie Tiger, I just love it . . . |
