| tear stains? I know that maltese and other small/long haired breeds have problems with tear staining, I was just wondering if yorkies have a problem with this at all?

| They do get what I call eye goobers, but since they are darker than Maltese a stain is not really visible. I also notice if their hair is kept up in a top knot the "eye goobers" are not as bad. |

| That is why I decided to get a yorkie--my fiance HATES eye boogers but I wanted a long haired dog. I decided a yorkie is perfect since it's hair is dark enough to hide the boogies! They do get them but they aren't very visible. I notice Winston gets his after a nap for some reason. Sleepies maybe. |

| Also, if you don't want any staining, get a dog food w/o beet pulp. That's what makes that reddish tear stain color. Oh, and Baby has tons of eye boogers. I take a comb to them when I bathe her.

| Mitzi gets them. I just bathe her eyes with warm water everyday, that helps a lot. She still gets a little gunky sometimes. So then she gets her face washed again It's a vicious circle!! LoL!!
