| 2 weeks until I get my Baby I am adopting a real cute boy on the 11th. I need any advice you can give regarding boy Yorkies. Right now they have named him Brownie. I am changing that ASAP-how do you go about that! Do I just start calling him by his new name right away! That is another issue-I do not have a name for him yet! |

I have a female so I cant help you out with the male thing! hehe but a friend of mine has a male and she says she is having trouble with him spraying. Now another friend of mine has a male Yorkie and they had him fixed so he does not spray. How about Jasper?? I dont know it just came off my tongue Make sure what ever you do, when you get him start using the name you want him to respond to! Dont corfuse the poor baby! Good luck with potty training!! LOL |

| I have no idea about male Yorkies, but I'm sure someone in here can help you Congratulations on the new pup too As far as the name changing, Brownie is a great name But you can start calling him by the name you choose as soon as you get him. He'll associate it with himself after a while. It doesn't happen over night, so just be patient with him.

| How old is he? I have 2 neutered males & 2 intact males. My 2 neutered never pee in the house, the other 2 will look at me & lift their legs especially if a female is in heat. Other than that, IMO male Yorkies make the sweetest most loving furbabies. They seem to be less demanding than the females and more eager to please. JMO |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I thought about using litter, but not sure. I tried the pee pads, but no luck, I would rather her go outside, we have a nice big yard so I just go out there with her, but I'm at work all day so she is stuck in her crate. I wish I had more time to train her, but as soon as I get home I do what I can. Plus I really work with her on the weekends, she is getting better, it just takes time! |

She is not in it no kore then 7 hours and to me thats a long time. But she does not whine, I make sure she has food and water and I give her a greenie a day. |

| He is 14 weeks old. He will be 16 weeks when I get him. Do you let her go to the bathroom & then put her in the crate? I was going to put him in the bathroom & in the crate at night |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | NO as soon as she goes potty I award her and praise her up and down to let her know she did good. I only put her in her crate when I leave for work or if we go somewhere she cant go. She sleeps with me at night. I hear her get up at night and I know she has to go potty, so I just get up and take her, she only gets me up once at night and as soon as she goes potty she goes right back to sleep Now she is in heat right now and I have not found a good pantie so I'm going today to see what I can find, so she has been sleeping in her crate, but she dont seem to mind. But I just feel bad cause she has to be in it durning the day and then at night, she will be in heat for 21 DAYS!!! YUCK! Last edited by yougetthesmiles; 03-01-2006 at 08:52 AM.
