| His darn coat!!!! Ugh! I am getting sooo frustrated! I have tired almost everything on Luigi's coat! Its just sooo cottony, I can not stand it anymore and I think I have to have him cut short and just keep it that way! I love the CC products! And for the longest time, they worked great on him, No Mats or no knots! But then about a month ago, I swear it just quit working on him. UGH! I have tried a few other brands and even tried no more tangles by Johnson and Johnson. And still nothing! It keeps gettin worse! UGH! So I called the groomer to make and appointment, and of course I can't get in til March 16th! Grrr! I feel so bad. I have been brushing him for about an hour! And I don't want to "torture" him anymore!!!! Oh what to do, what to do!!!!! So til then, I guess I have to put up with the tangles. Grrr. So when I do get him cut, I am thinking of keeping his face, tail and legs longer, and then cutting his body short. What do ya think??? OK! Sorry sooo long here!!!! Just had to vent! LOL!!!!

| Chachi is a cotton coat too. We keep his body real short and the face a little longer and its real cute on him. I would rather have the short hair than the matts.

| I think Luigi will look darling in that cut! I cut Maddie that way for summer and I liked it. I also keep her face, legs and tail long. Can't wait to see Luigi after his trip to the groomer!!!

| I May Be Commiting a Sin But.... Jazzie & Jewel both have cottony coats too. I know it's a NO-NO but... After shampoo, I use Pantene deep conditioning conditioner (wow! that's a type full!) and when I brush them between baths, I use the Pantene Leave In conditioner. As Adam Sandler said as Billy Madison "It make the hair Shiny & Smooth"! Because both my girls have long coats, I do occasionally get matts that are just impossible, I snip it off and it doesn't show at all!

Here are some pictures of Jazzie so you can see how cottony she is and how shiny her coat is.

| I found that when I wash her hair in "puppy" shampoo it cuts down on the tangles a bit. Don't know why it works on Gracie but it does. And I am guilty, I cut the matts out too! Sometimes I have even bathed her with dove shampoo/conditioner!!!!! I recently did a cut just like you were talking about and it looked cute! Her face/tail/legs were long and the rest of her was cut short. I did eventually cut the hair around her face shorter, I have been trying new "doo's" on her latley. Right now I am growing it all back out again.

| I am forced to use human shampoo on the Mitzer, due to ZERO pet stores here. I have to say that so far she's looking good. It's the Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo, and L'Oreal Elsève conditioner. I've no tangles or knots, and she's shining a bit these days too. I'm still not sure what kind of coat she has, silky or cotton. I think it's gonna be a cotton though. I'm no expert! LoL!!!!

| Pippa is prone to matting too. I use human shampoo and conditioner all the time, it suits her.

| I have 2 girls with thick, dark, cottony coats. I keep them cut in a puppy style cut. They look adorable and so much easier to keep. Sometimes I thin out and leave a little skirt hanging on Ida"s sides. |

| Gucci has a cottony coat also. I use Mane & Tail Shampoo and Tresseme conditioner, and so far they work fine. But I think Im going to give Pantene a try because her hair is soft but not very shiny. Thanks for the tip. |

| The puppy cuts are really cute. Princess gets it every summer because it's so hot here. I think you're going to like it.
