| My Luci is Worse Than Expected I first joined YT about 2 weeks ago when I was looking for some info on liver diseases. Since then, Luci has been diagnosed with Microvascular Dysplasia. At first this was alarming, but with a low protein diet (Hill's L/D Diet) and daily doses of denosyl I was told she would live a close to normal life span. On Friday I learned that she also has a clotting disorder (basically her blood does not clot and she is at risk of spontaneous hemorrage...external or internal). The vitamin k she was on for 2 weeks did not help with the clotting. Her blood test also showed low levels of fibrinogen (another of the clotting factors). Apparently this is secondary to the MVD. I was told she would be lucky to live another year or two. I am devestated...she is only 2! She is my baby. The vet is awaiting feedback from a specialist, so I hope they are wrong. But the thought of losing my baby so soon is overwhelming. Has anyone heard of this combination...microvascular dysplasia with a blood clotting disorder? Any advice or experiences you may have had would be helpful. Thank you.

| Go to this web site for liver shunt and you can get information from people that have this problem. This web site can help you get the information you need on MVD. So sorry to heart about your little one being so sick. www.livershunt.com

| Oh I'm so sorry to hear this! Sometimes though you hear Dr's say "they'll only live a year" or whatever and they are proved wrong! Hopefully this will be what Luci will do!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry. Hopefully the specialist can give some insight to other drugs athat may help. Also, there is research going on so hopefully they will come up with something that will work. I would do some research on your own strating with the big university vet clinics. My Cali is going to have a liver biopsy soon to test for MVD. I am so scared. I will keep you in my prayers.

| I am so sorry to hear your baby luci is having these problems. and I can only offer you and luci a hug and pray that the Doctors are wrong! and I would think if the Dr is having a specialist see luci maybe he isn't quite sure?
