| Cookie ,Hospitalized today Well I just took Lola for her first checkup and everything was perfect. I even brought Cookie along for the day. Well yesterday morning he thew up bile and I figured it was because he had an empty tummy . Well he was ok during the day ,he just seemed extra clingy to us. After dinner he threw up all over my bed. He was soooo ashamed when I saw my comforter but mommy was not upset at all with him. I started to worry a bit. My hubby said to take him to the vet this morning and I said I will see how he is in the morning and then decide. Well early at 7 am he threw undigested food. I guess he must have eaten a little bit this morning and just threw it up. I mean the food looked like it was right out of the can! I thought he just put it on the floor.I gave him some nutrical and called my vet to get an appt for today. About 20 min after giving him nutrical I see him staring down at my rug and his tummy was contracting so I knew he wanted to threw up again so I carried him to the pee pad and told him it was ok to let it out and I rubbed his back and sure enough he threwup the nutrical too. When my vet checked him she said he was dehydrated and she checked his poop. It came back negative for anything. She asked to hospitalize him until late this afternoon. She was going to give him an antibiotic shot, something for the vomiting and IV fluids. She is very cautious with Cookie because of the Microvascular Dysplasia ,they said it's mild but he will have to be on low protein diet for the rest of his life. I went out because I didnt want to stay at home thinking all day about this. I will post later and let you guys know what happened. Genie, Cookie & Lola |

| I am so sorry Cookie isn't feeling well. Zeus is on a low protein diet as well, since he has a history of pancreatitis, so I completely understand. He eats Hill's R/D. He has been on this diet for about a year now and has been doing great. I hope your little one will be better soon!

| Just got back from picking him up! They sent us home with pills for the vomiting. He did not throw up since this morning. His blood tests came back normal. She did research and found a home made recipe for dogs with general liver problems including the MVD that he has . I am rushing today to go buy all the ingredients! One batch should last him a week ,since he onlyeats about 3-4 oz a day .Read the detailed ingredients. 4 oz leanest ground beef 2 Cups Cooked rice 1 hard boiled egg(finely chopped) 3 slices of white bread ,crumbled 1 tsp calcium carbonate 1/4 tsp salt 1 Centrum vitamin supplement 1 tsp corn oil 100 IU vitamin E capsule 1 gram fish oil supplement 1 tsp Metamucil Add low sodium chicken broth Genie ,Cookie & Lola |
