BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Belly Button Hernia Hello all, I'm new to this Forum, but I'm so excited I found Yorkie Talk! I have a baby girl yorkie and her name is Kloey, she will be 1 yr old in May. She is such a delight and I just adore her. I would love to breed her but she has a small belly button hernia, I plan on having it removed before I breed, I'm going to wait till she is at least 2 years old till I breed her. I'm not going to breed to make money, I just want the experience, I have family members who can not afford to buy a yorkie and if I can help them get one, thats what I want to do. But I would never risk her life, I have had some people tell me I shouldnt breed and others tell me it's ok to breed with the hernia. Any suggestions? |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Thanks for the nice welcome I have 1 pic I put on my profile of Kloey, I took this pic at Christmas time and I just love it. I hung a stocking up on my door with some wrapping paper as the back ground and put Kloey in the stocking, my oldest daughter stood right next to her and held her to make sure she did not fall, and I finally got some good shots of her. I plan on using them next year for my christmas cards. |

| Welcome To Yt! She should have the umbilical hernia repaired. Now as far as breeding her, There is a lot to take inconsideration. We have a lot of threads about breeding on our breeder talk section. I have heard that umbilical hernia's can be hereditary. Is there a good breeder that can help you and your yorkie along if you decide to breed? That will help you Greatly.

| Hi, and welcome to YT. Sorry I don't know anything about hernis's so I can't help you there. I just wanted to say that I am thinking about doing the same thing as you when it comes to breeding my female. My mom has a male yorkie and if we do then we were going to do the same thing when it come to giving them to family members for just the price that we put in vet bills for them. My grandmother use to raise toy poodles and another small breed so she will be able to help us through everything so that would be the only thing I would want to say, just to have someone that knows small breeds well to help out when the pups come. (In my case were hopeful on wanting to breed but my girl doesn't seem to be growing as fast as we thought she would and if she doesn't get to 7lbs. like my moms male then were just going to have her spayed) Good Luck, Crystal

| breeding Welcome... I would have the hernia repaired. If you want to breed your female, that is your business. Learn all you can..and since these pups are for you and your family, I wish you well. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | A belly button hernia can occur from mom tuggin too much on the umbilical chord. Now, abdominal hernias are hereditary and should not be bred but umbilical hernias are different. Discuss it with your vet and go the route for you.
