| Ears I have a few questions on ear care, if y'all don't mind! I just got Bobby on Tuesday and wanted to have his ears looked at by a groomer but they wouldn't take him until he had his rabies shot. Done! So, it's off to the groomer tomorrow! (oooops, today!) He has VERY hairy ears, which is probably why they're not standing. How much should they shave off? Also, the vet found a few ear mites Friday and sent us home with some medicine. I've been using an ear wash, cleaning and drying his ears, and putting the medicine in. But he has a lot of hair inside his ears, too. Should all of that be removed? I think it might be contributing to the gunk in his ears. Thanks! Julie |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi....Congratulations on your new puppy.... Yes - you can shave down the top 1/3 of the ear hair - inside and outside and the hair down inside the ear is usually plucked out..... |

| Congrats on your new puppy! If you're trying to get his ears to stand, I would have them shave the whole ear back and front. And have them pull the hair out from the inside. Good Luck
