| Anyone know why... Coco just threw up but I don't know why. It was yellow liquid, nothing else in there. She threw up once yesterday too but yesterday had some hair in it. So I thought the hair might have cuased her to throw up. She's eating, pooping and playing like herself, but she's never thrown up before. Are they like babies where occasionally they throw up or should I be concerned? I figured I will make her some white rice with broiled chicken for lunch. I haven't changed her diet or anything. I have been giving her more fruit than normal. What could it be?

| My guess is that maybe the little extra fruit has too much acid for her lil tummy. Keep an eye on her, but it is probally something that will pass.

| Try sticking to premium dog food. These changes can tear their tummies up. I also have had them vomit hair..I do my hubby's and son's haircuts and these beasties seem to find every hair that the broom misses. The yellow is just bile from the stomach and sometimes means acid tummy.. |

| I normally stick to her Innova and she does great. I've given her fruit before and her vet said it was ok but maybe I gave her too much this last week?? I haven't given her any for about 3 days, so I don't know if it was still in her tummy. She's pooping on schedule and it's nice and solid. She is a maniac as normal, running around with a big smile. I am cooking rice and chicken for her right now to settle her tummy. I'm guessing it will pass. Anyone else have any ideas?

| bile Yellow is bile..her tummy is upset. If they do it early in the AM it is usually due to being empty..otherwise it could be just an upset..best wishes |

| Thanks so much Pat and everyone. I feel much better now. I just gave her white rice and chicken which she inhaled. The throw up was maybe like the size of a quarter or half dollar piece. It wasn't a lot but we always do worry about these babies. Thanks everyone, you're the best

| Shelby does that pretty often. It only happens in the morning when her tummy is empty. Now I make sure she gets a bit of food in her first thing in the morning. Seems like it happens when she gets too much carpet crud. Are you still having a problem with Coco eating carpet? |

| My girl throw up every once in awhile. I would say that if COCO is throwing up 3 times with no major changes in her diet you might take her to the as soon as you get a chance just to rule out anything that might come up later. Hope your girl feels better soon. I am sure your are as sick as she is of worries for her condition. |

| last night was bad. yesterday she threw up like 4 times but all yellowy acidic vomit without no solids. She wasn't eating after her last meal in the afternoon. She was trying to eat grass and drink a lot of water. So after speaking with the vet last night, they said pull the water and food and allow 8 hours of no food and very little water after her last vomit. They scared me by saying she could have Parvo but I told them that she has had all of her vaccinations up to this point. So I didn't feed her anything. I just woke up every 2 hours and gave her water with a dropplet. At 7 this morning I ran to the store and bought chicken breast, pedialyte and cottage cheese. I came home and broiled chicken and mixed it with cottage cheese. I gave her about a teaspoon, juts to make sure she can handle it. It's been 4 hours since and no throw up. Something must have really upset her tummy in the last couple of days. They had me all worried saying it could be parvo but i know she's already vaccinated. I'm starting her back onto food slowly not allowing a lot of activity right after food. She energetic and playful like always. I was so sad, I didn't know what to do last night. But so far things are looking up. I iwll keep you all posted. If I see more vomit today, I will go nuts...and then take her to the vet. I'm just out of town, so I would prefer to take her to her own vet.

| All my life - all of my dogs have thrown up occasionally. I wouldn't worry about it if your dog appears to be just fine - playing, eating, bathroom habits, etc. Keep an eye on your puppy - it's probably just fine. If it does begin to appear to be ill - then a trip to the vet will probably be in order. Good luck! Carol Jean |
