| Question about wetting down food?? Hello everyone!! I have had Romeo since February 25, 2005. He was born January 2, 2005. When I first got him, the breeder told me to wet his dry food down with warm water 2 times a day and to leave dry food down all day for him. I have been doing this ever since. I was just curious...how long should I continue this? He is a rapidly growing little man.... and I also...do I still need to give him the Nutri-Cal 3 times a day like she said? Just curious!! |

| I don't give Bailey nutri-cal either. He's going to be 13 weeks tomorrow and weighs 2lbs 1oz. I feed Bailey wet food usually once a week. But I do dribble Iam's gravy sauce on his dry food usually once a day. |

| I've never given Tia nutrical. I have it on hand, but she's never needed it. She was 2lb 10 oz when we brought her home.

| I wouldnt think wetting down there food even as puppies would be a good idea. Its back for dogs oral hygeine to feed wet food. Maybe once in awhile but with Yorkies having a history of oral problems they need all the help they can get with cleaning their teeth. I wouldnt recommend making a habit of it.

| there is a reason i was told to wet down his food, but i forget what it was..... i think it had something to do with the way he was pooping..... i understand about the teeth though, but again, that is why i was only told to do it once a week or so.......anyways Romeo's mommmy, toby is 6 and a half months and he weghs 9 lbs......... |

| My vet said it's a good idea to give the Nutrical on a regular basis in the begining, they acquire a taste for it and it has lots of extra vitamins a growing pup could use! He said to do it twice a day for the first few months. Now I keep it in his puppy bag to use in emergencies or when I know there will be extra excitement/stress. Ask your vet what's right for your little one! And I leave food down all day. Regular (hard) food usually during the day and a mixture of canned in the evening. But I also give him people food... So I'm probably not the best to give advice on good feeding habits! (Bailey's 4lbs.) |
