Collar Benji hates his leash! He always tries to rub it off on the carpet or tries to eat his name tag. It is driving me crazy. I want him to always wear his vaccination tags and city registration. I have tried putting his leash on a few times a day for short periods of time but he just keeps fighting it. Any suggestions?

I would probably just keep putting it on him until he accepts it. Pixie hated her harness at first but once she accepted the fact it's not coming off just because she wants it to, she dealt with it. Maybe try putting it on for about 15 minutes and play with him the whole time. Hopefully he'll forget it's there if you keep him distracted. Then just increase the amount of time you leave it on until he's okay with it. I might try just putting the collar on (no tags or anything hanging on it) and add the tags later. That way there's really nothing for him to grab onto and chew while you aren't looking. Once he's used to the collar, attach a leash and let him run around the house with it (supervised! We don't need anybody getting caught and strangled!!) so he gets used to that idea too. It really didn't take my pup too long to figure out the whole leash/collar thing. She's fine with it now. Hopefully others will have some suggestions for you too....

how can you resist that noisy clutter of metal . . I know dogs can't My Tiger sometimes bites on it too so all I say it "a-ah-ah" . . .but when too stubborn to listen, I spray a little bitter apple and that would be the end of it . Hope this helps!
