About 3 wks ago.. when Chloe was 12 wks old.. She weighed 1.5 lbs, We took her to the vet today.. at 15 wks old.. she weighed 3.8 ounces. Is it normal for her to gain that much weight in 3 weeks? I feed her the same amount of food. I thought she was going to be about 3.5-4 lbs.. but now it seems like shes going to weigh much more. How old are they when they reach their full weight?

Your dog grew more than mine during the same time frame. But all puppies grow at a different rate. She may be bigger than you expected or her growing may slow way down. How bid were her parents? That can be a good clue of what she will end up being.

Her parents were both 4 lbs each. She has a really big belly though.. and we had just caught her eating our 2 yr old yorkies food right before we went to the vet. Could that have something to do with her weighing that much? My moms dog looks twice as big as her and hes suppose to weigh 4 lbs.. but she has a really big belly

no...... he is not completely full grown i dont think....... usually they are full grown anywhere between 9- 12 months....... but then again, he hasnt really been the "Average" he has always been a little "weird" about "rules" that follow with yorkies..... im thinking he wont gain too much more weight though, he certainly hasnt gotten that much bigger lately, he will probably be a max of 10 lbs MAYBE 11.........he doesnt look it though, if you saw him you wouldnt think he looked much more than 7, but then again its allllllllll muscle, hehe, my little muscle man

My guess is she probably shouldn't be more than 5 lbs at the very most. However, she sounds like she really enjoys a good meal. You may have to closely monitor her so that she doesn't become unhealthy. I think being over 4 or 5 lbs. is great if she can carry it and it looks good on her.
