| Overprotective Puppy Parents Well, I just have to get this off my chest. My boyfriend and are officially "overprotective puppy parents". The other day we noticed that when our little Benji sneezed that it was a little bloody. We were so worried about him that we started making up and thinking of the worst scenarios possible. We were fearful of bringing him to the vet because we already went to the vet on Monday and have had to administer a number of ear drops and medication (we are trying to isolate either ear mites or a food allergy as well as break his habit of eating his poop). We have only had the little guy for about 4 weeks now and have seen the vet four times. Well, everything seems to be okay. The vet said that he may have reverse sneezing and gave us some additional meds but we are not going to use them until his other ones are done (I don't want to overload him with medication). He is playful and extremely happy. He follows us everywhere and everything seems to be okay. I just feel like a dufus for being so worried. Hey, can you blame me? He's our first puppy. Thanks for listening! |

| If it makes you feel better, I call my vet all the time! To the point where he just gave me his cell phone number I have questions about everything and am without a doubt his "best" client! I think I am the queen of overprotection and my babies are 2 and almost 4 I don't think there is anything wrong with being overprotective! Welcome to YT!!!! |

| I too am very over protective! I call my vet now for every little thing. When I 1st brought Luigi home, as he too was my very 1st pet ever, I called for everything...mainly just because I didn't know what the norm was. Although, the one time I was glad I did call, because he was having a reaction to a shot he had. And the vet told me to bring him in right away. Thank goodness I called! So its ok to be like that!! And your vet will get used to you calling and they will never mind you calling!! Better safe than sorry!!!!!!!!!

| Holly, never worry about calling the vet. I would have called the vet with blood in the sneeze...anytime you see blood you should call the vet. You are doing the right thing and especially in these little ones that can go down fast. I am sure your vet would rather you call then let something go to long and it is to late. Stay the course

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I think it is good to be overprotective....we go see our vet all the time and don't worry about the costs!! We want what is best for the girls and if we have a question we ask, if we are concerned we let him know....he expects it from us now!!! I think you can't be too careful with these little guys.....don't worry you are defintely not alone!!

| I can guarantee that you are not alone!!! I take Mojo to the vet and call all the time....I think they know that I will always be there and that is why they give my discounts, etc. They call Mojo their Prince Mojo or Prince Yorkie. I'm protective over everything....who plays with him, what he can have, etc. To me, he is my a baby son.....that will never talk, etc....so I have to talk for him! I hope you get things worked out with your baby! And don't worry about being over protective. I would rather get looks and have people think I am crazy, then to have something happen to Mojo!
