| I have worried about this to, and my Baxter is 16 weeks old. Last week one ear went up and am waiting for the second one to go up. I think it is a timing thing. It sometimes takes longer for some than others. I just hope he doesn't have one up and one down. Actually, I really thought they were cute down. Oh well, wait and see. Hope this helps.

| You can shave and tape the ears. If you do a search about taping the ears you can find alot of useful info.

| i've read that the ears can go down when they're teething. so it's not something you've done wrong. |

| My vet told me that as well, ears go down with teething! Simon's were down for awhile and then one day they were up and they have been up ever since! I didn't tape or shave them, they just went up on their own |

| Hi and welcome to YT. I would shave the ears and see what happens, but usually once they are so old if the ears are not standing then it has been my experience from other yorkies I have seen, that they will not stand. |

| It's probably due to the teething process. They'll come up on their own. Tiggers took awhile (only one ear flopped down) and then one day I was like "Look his ears finally up!!!" It'll take some time, but if you shave or keep the hair on the ears trimmed that'll help too. If they don't stand up on their own by the time your pup is six months I would begin to think about taping them. Best of Luck.

| I had no idea about the teething! I'm so glad you guys posted that. I was beginning to wonder if I should shave Eleanor's ears too.

| Baxters other ear went up, so now they are both up. I did take him to the groomers, but i did not tape them. I think they just go up on their own. Hope this helps.

| down ears My Otis has down ears. He has a cottony coat and thick hair. He doesn't tolerate grooming too well so I've never really worried about shaving them. I do well just to get them trimmed evenly. I think his floppy ears match his personality perfectly!! He's not a show dog, so I figured that's the way he was made. I love the look!

| in case they don't go up some yorkies (including Ginger) end up with down ears, even if you do everything "right", so don't worry too much. While up is the standard, I think they're cute either way...check out the thread on Carmen Electra's yorkie, Daisy. She's adorable, and her ears are definitely down.
