| Seperation Anxiety? Hi Everyone, I need some advice... Buster will be 5 months old on 2/20 and is doing wonderful..except when it comes to me. When he is out and about with me or even at home, when he even senses that I am going to leave him... he stats to shake a little bit and will come and lay on my lap and cry. It breaks my heart It weird bc I leave for work everymorning and he is fine when I put him in his house and when I come home for lunch and put him back in. But if we are home and I go to throw the garbage out or something... he starts to freak out!!! Is this something that they go through or something I need to be concerned about?? PLease help!!!! |

| I understand! Sully is like that, except he freaks out AFTER I get home....he is unconsolable (sp?) for like the first ten minutes, even if I've been gone 4 hours or 15 minutes! Here are a few links to other threads about separation anxiety that may help: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30315 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29475 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26530

| Gracie is the same way, putting out the trash can be a nightmare. The garage opening is the worst, she goes crazy for a good 15 minutes. I started telling Gracie what I am doing before I do it in hopes to calm her nerves, it works about 60% of the time. She is fine when I leave to go somewhere also. Maybe try letting him come with you to take the trash out....

| Maybe you should consider getting him a playmate, that way while your gone he has another one there with him. It is hard for one who has been around others and then all of a sudden to be alone. You can pm FireFish as she went through this with her Roxy, maybe she can give you some good advise. |

| good luck with the little guy! Gizmo does the same thing. But I don't go to work, he is here with me all day. But if I want to go out to eat, or shopping, he would just die if he was left behind. My mom lives in the house behind me, and she says that he will cry the entire time I'm gone. Needless to say, he goes everywhere I go.
