| How to stop the barking? Spikey is 7 months old now. When we first got him at 9 weeks in July, he never barked at strangers when we took him for walks. We took him everywhere when he was a puppy. Then during the winter months (starting around end Oct), we did not take him out for walks because of the cold weather. Now, the weather is getting warmer and we're starting to take him out more often. We found out he has start learning to bark at almost everyone who will walk past him or anyone who comes at our door. He did stop when we ask him to stop barking but it is very embarrassing to have him bark at every single person that walk past us. I know the reason he barks is due to insecurity because when we hold him in our arms, he'll not bark. He only bark when we put him on the ground. How can you assure to your yorkie that they're safe and you will be there to protect him if anybody tries to harm him/her |

| I had a barking problem with Gracie and the only way that iI could correct it was by using a "naughty can". I took an old can and filled it with beans and nails and such. When she would bark I would shake the can and say firmly "No barking". It worked, but I can not carry the can with me everywhere. As for the safety part, I struggle everyday trying to let Gracie know that she is safe and that I will protect her no matter what. I think sometimes when we walk and she barks at people and such that maybe she is try to protect me, trying to let me know that she is there, right beside me, warning me of possible danger. Good luck!
