| Leaping Lizzards! (I mean yorkie) Mia will jump, leap, fly off anything! She will be up on the back or the couch and just take a running leap off. She does this in our backyard on a childs size picnic table on my patio. I cringe everytime she does this. I know I'm suppose to discourage her or any small dog from doing this but I can't stop her. How do you get them to stop? I just don't want her to injure herself.

| Toto has almost "mastered" the "stay" command ... so I can place her on a table and tell her to "stay" but I don't venture far away "just in case"! If it's the bed or sofa I always keep her a means to get down without leaping. I am so afraid of those tiny "knees" getting injured! They are sooo unpredictible, there is always the possibility that they will leap anyway! I have noticed that if she is up high and wants down she will always look for a safe way down before doing that "high jump"!

| My malt will do the same, he looks for an easy way down with less impact but Mia hasn't a care in the world and just dives from where ever she's at.

| He just flies through the air with the greatest of ease.....that daring young dog on his flying trapeze......Well, he doesn't have a trapeze, but he sure flies! I just try not to think about it because I am never going to be able to stop him...... |

| MY hubby built a ramp for our bed they do use it but only to get up. to get down they just go to the corner and fly!I have given up also. So far no injuries (Knock on wood) Little Bailee (she is 3 1/2 months) is a different story. She likes to be babied and wont jump wont go up and down stairs (Unles she is going to the shop with my hubby to get a treat) cant go through the doggy door without help she just sits and crys until one of us carry her or open the door. She crys about everything especially if a toy is not doing what she wants it to! LOL. My hubby calls her a wimp (Just jokingly) My vet calls her NEEDY. I just call her my little Bailee Baby. LOL. | "Needy" .... that is sooo sweet! Next time I am accused of "spoiling" Toto ... I will simply say ... "she isn't spoiled, she is just needy"!! Spoiled, needy or wimpy .... I wouldn't change her for anything!!

| Yah! My vet is too funny! LOL. He calls Jigzey the queen, Brandi-- Tuff Nut-- Then calls Bailee needy and asks if im sure Brandi is the mom of Bailee and if I need a DNA done! LOL Brandi is the only one I have that can have puppies!LOL. Another time I got Brandi x-rayed to see how many and how big the puppies were and she had to stay at the vets for a bit cause the vet had an emergency come in. When I went to pick her up (half hour later) He (the vet)came out and said the spaying went fine and she is recovering nicely! LOL I might have fallen for it but I could see Brandi. I think the vets office lives to tease me! LOL Cindy Last edited by Brandi_Bailee; 08-03-2004 at 01:54 PM. |
