| Is Mia a cat???? We have talked about this many times over on the late YorkiesDirect about how our yorkies have some cat like tendencies. Climbing up on high places, looking out windows, hiding, crouching and stalking when playing. But I never asked about scratching....I think Mia needs a scratching post!!!! She gets into her little digging mode on the bed (Bentley, my maltese does that too) but she does this in all her little beds around the house, on the floor , etc. She just does it more than he. And the climbing on things ...well, shes either a kitty or a mountain goat! So how about all my new friends here at YorkieTalk... do your yorkies do the same?

| YES ... and it's really weird! Patrick has always said that Toto has cat-like tendencies! He's been around more cats than I ... but what experience I have tells me he's right! She does that curious scratching, digging, napping thing just like a cat. I thought the digging/scratching was just Terrier and perhaps she is looking for a "rat" and had lapsed into "Ratter" mode!! She also loves hiding around corners when we are all playing "chase" and jumping out! hmmmmm ...

| Yup, we find that about Yoda a lot too. Lately he's been kicking me with his rear paws when he wants something or wants my attention, too! |

| One time we took Yoda to Chinatown at night. A drunk guy was stumbling around and asked us "Is that a cat?" We said, no, it's a dog, then he said something which I'll never forget, "How can a dog look like a cat?" Heheheh.. we still get chuckles when we tell that tale. |

| When you talked about it on YD , it must have been beofre I joined - I'm amazed to hear this!! Gypsy Rose has a long tail for a start as some of you know so a rear view of he closely resembles a black cat. Not only that my baby wakes in the morning, every morning and goes "miaow!" - she DOES!! Also stalks the birds in the garden just like a cat (one of her less attractive traits I may add!!) - she could also do with a scratching post.... Ana xx |
