| PLEASE HELP! Newborn bleeding from mouth! My Mom's Yorkie Angel is having puppies right now. She is expecting 3. The first one is born and the belly is distended and blue. There is some blood coming from its mouth. The little female is making gaging sounds though when suctioned nothing is coming out. The mother (though not her first litter and did wonderful the first time) had the head in its mouth and my Mom had to pry the pup from her. She chewed the cord and cleaned the puppy up nicely but now things are going bad fast. Please help if you can. I'm afraid it is hopeless but don't want to take the chance that there is something that could have been done. |

| It sounds as if she has some internal injury going on. Her intestines could be bleeding. It could also be coming from her stomach, esophogus, a bad yank on the cord can cause problems as well. It would be best to get to an emergency clinic with mom and all puppies immediately. I'm so sorry this is happening, and since I'm not a vet, i'm only guessing what could be going on, and I've never experienced that, so please tell them to get them somewhere asap. It may be best to let her go peacefully, as sad as that may sound. And x-ray or u sound will tell the vet alot more. She is in my prayers. Poor baby. |

| Poor little thing. It does not sound good at all. I will say a prayer that all will be ok with the rest of the litter and mom.

| Sorry it took so long to update. I rushed over to my Mom's and just got back (after 11:00 pm). The 3 pups were born a week early. They look fantastic but are all a little raspy. There is no blood anymore, may have just been from birth and my Mom panicing a little. The first one born is the only one I couldn't get to eat. It's heartbeat is strong and steady but it is still has labored breathing. The 2nd pup was like that too, but is stronger now. I pray the 1st one gets stronger also. Thank you sooooooo much for your responses and prayers. I will post an update tomorrow. |
