| ? 4 Mom's of multilples(yorkies) This is a question for all you mom's of multiple dogs..... Do your dogs react or respond when you call the name of one of the other dogs? Bentley, my maltese is almost 3 years old and Mia (yorkie) is 1 year old. I got her back in October and this is the first time I have had 2 dogs at the same time. I love having 2, the really enjoy each other and keep each other company. I have noticed that when I call Bentley, Mia seems to understand that I'm calling him and will run to him like she's trying to get his attention or get him to come along. Example: I'll say "outside" and Mia will run to the door and we step outside. Sometimes Bentley doesn't follow or come and I will keep the door open and call him..."Bentley, Outside" Mia will dart back inside and run to him and act all excited and try and get him to follow her. Bentley doesn't do this. Do any of your dogs seem to understand that you are calling one of the others?

| names Whenever I call anyones name, Charlotte will look at the one I am calling...my husband said it is because I am looking at the one I called and Charlotte copies me..still I think she is smart. She tends to ignore me when I call her unless she wants to do what I say. |

| I think it's cute when Mia goes to get him. I know it's not because I'm looking at him because he may be out of site in another part of the house. Bentley doesn't do this or maybe he just doesn't care if I'm calling her, but she sure is after him when he is called.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | 2 Dogs I was laughing when I read this cause I just said to my husband that when I don't see Cherish who has been her 1 week and a day...Chanel will run and find her for me...though she still gets her big pout face when I am holding the puppy. They are GREAT PALS already and right at this minute are playing together at my feet - course Chanel is still a puppy herself...but this is like having her own little froggie to chase (YD Users would know the meaning of this)...Big fun in the house...now if I could just get them to quit running over my feet while taking a little bite at the same time!~ |

| Well, I too feel your pain. I have two yorkies, Jazzy & Mia. Jazzy is 7 months old and Mia is going on 4 months old. Mia is funny where if I call her name, she looks at Jazzy as if to say, "is it okay for me to answer her"? But then if I call Jazzy, they both come running. So that's pretty much what I do. Regardless of who I want to come, I just call Jazzy and I get them both. |

| It is funny how they do with each other. If you call Rudy he usually won't come, it must be a male thing. lol He will come if I say "treat". If I tell Maddie to go get Lucky she will go find her and come back to me till I follow her to were Lucky is. They will not go outside unless the other two go with them. I am very lucky my three get along so well.............Cindy |

| When a thunderstorm rolls thru, the oldest girl will go and hide, then the little one finds her every time. You can "run", but you cannot "hide" from her either. They are funny! Does anyone else have a problem with thunderstorms? Also my oldest one is noise sensitive, squints & blinks her eyes even if I lightly hit the spoon on a dish or snap my fingers. I think it might have something to do with that 90 ft. pine tree falling on our living room, or maybe when the other 90 ft. pine got struck by lightning in our yard , that was a loud noise we'll never forget! |

| Toto is a big "fraidy cat" about any noise she cannot identify! When she knows what the noise is she just kinda adds it to her little mental list! She can hear you call her if you go to the far side of the house and "whisper" her name. I think they have "super sensitive" ears ... or they are just plain nosey and don't want to miss anything! We didn't notice her being afraid of thunderstorms until a few months ago when she suddenly started being frightened. Then my husband remembered ... our friends were at our house and it started thundering ... one of our friends quickly grabbed Toto saying "I know you're scared of the storm, come let Aunt Karen hold you!" and was tightly holding her! From that day if it starts thundering she nearly climbs our leg trying to get into our arms! I have begun to just casually go sit on the sofa and watch TV and she will curl up on my lap and doesn't seem to be so frightened. I also massage her ... starting with her head and just slowly over her entire little body and this seems to help also! I can remember being "terrified" by my two older brothers when I was a child and it's just about the most awful thing in the world ... we don't want her to be afraid!!

| This " high sensitive hearing" seemed to start the worst when the lightning hit that tree, I NEVER heard anything so loud, then all wood splinter/wood chunks all over the yard. I think it affected her eardrums! The baby don't seem to have that sensitive hearing, at least she don't blink her eyes when I snap my fingers ! I could whisper the older ones name from the other end of the house and she'd come running. Thats good to know in any emergency anyways. If you don't show any emotion in a storm they will pick it up but in the case of the tree falling and the lightning striking, that was natural acts anything would be afraid. She's getting better during storms but still not as well tolerated as her little sister, she could care less. |

| Our Pogo (12 years old) has always been afraid of storms and prefers to sit in my lap! Even when a storm comes on our "surround sound" he gets worried. Higgins, on the other hand, when we had a lollapalooza thunderstorm the other day, sat by the front screen door, watching, and BARKING and GROWLING at that monster outside making all that noise. Even when we had a lightning hit right close to the house. I'm sure he was a little "nervous" as he was excited, but he sure kept up a big, bad front! |
