| What causes Yorkie independence? Is it just a personality trait or is it because of how they were raised within their first few weeks or months? |

| I think it is personality. I have one that is independent and one that is needy and dependent.

| That's good to hear...I hope you guys are right! Jo is very independent except at nap time and then he's cuddly, but it's only when he wants to be. I was worried that we did something wrong with him...or maybe it was from being taken away from his mom too soon or something phsycological! Now Riley, on the other hand, is a total lap dog and he loves to snuggle...he sleeps next to me all night but Jo usually sleeps about a foot away. |

| I have no idea but I have read that its to do with how they are treated when they are babies.Mine are both SUPER needy.Lady is needy with my husband, and Jess is like it with me.They want constant attention and have to be touching us or right near us always. Its cute, but sometimes its anoying..especially when Im in the toilet and have Jess sitting on my lap! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I think has to with their parents personalities....Magic's mom is very independent and so is she...whereas Sailor's mom was more needy and she is very much like her mom!! It is fun having one of each....you get the best of both sides!!
