| is your yorkie a houdini? i just got my first yorkie, spencer, who is about 3 months old. he hates to be left alone of course, but he has so far escaped his crate, baby gates, fences, anything...he just scales the gates and slips out of the holes in the crate! i was just wondering how to make him feel better in his crate and not hate it so much. any ideas? |

| Wow. You should probably get a new crate, if he can slip through it! That could be pretty dangerous (or fatal) if he got stuck in it. Just try to make his area as comfy for him as possible. Since Delilah just came home the other day, I keep a blanket with her skinmommy and furmommy's scents on it in her crate. She seems to feel safe in her crate, so I'm happy about that!

| i bought a crate one size bigger because i heard that it was better that way...to put food, pee pad, and bedding all in the same crate. so my boyfriend rigged it so he couldn't escape it but at the end of the day he has tore it up and stepped all in his own stuff, etc. i want to make him as happy as possible so currently he is closed in the bathroom when i go to work. it's a bigger area, without the "caged" feel. i just wish he liked his crate!!! he's just spoiled i think. |

| My Little-Bit climbs the fence. I bought a harness made sure it fit. Put a stake in center of yard gave her plenty of lead line hooked to the harness. Went inside for a minute, came back out, harness was swinging from the gate and no Little-Bit. Needless to say I didn't try that method again. I have had to put a lip all around my fence. Once the lip was installed, Little-Bit looked up and hasn't even tried to climb out. Is that smart or what? Yorkies are sooo smart, believe they read our minds.

| After I had already named Reuger I realized that I should have named him either Houdini or Kirby. Houdini because he has escaped from all the outside pens and fences that I have him in and Kirby because he keeps things picked up off of the carpet better than most vaccuum sweepers!!!
