Groomer in CT Does anyone know any good groomers in Connecticut? I'm in the Waterbury area. I know there are a ton of groomers, but I don't know which to go to? Should I try and find a place that specializes in yorkies or will most places do a good job? Tiki's getting a little shaggy

Brookfield and Woodbury Well, Chewbacca has been to visit A Paw Print in Brookfield, Ct - right by "4 Corners" and had a fantastic grooming experience there. The woman who owns the shop is fabulous, and she paid close attention to what we asked for. Our neighbors also bring their Yorkie there, and have found the grooming to be a good price, and great result. However, I know that Woodbury Pet Commons - on Main Street in Woodbury, Ct is a John Paul Salon. They have a phenomenal store - complete with pet bakery, small obedience classes, a little bistro in back, great food, toys, clothes, and supplies... Well, anyway, they offer individualized grooming. In other words, grooming there works like going to the salon - only one dog at a time, with timed "appointments." They are super friendly, and we LOVED shopping and playing there... We'd like to try the grooming as well, especially since we don't have to "leave" Chewie for the afternoon there... I'm sure that the Woodbury place is more expensive - as they are a John Paul (Paul Mitchell for pets) salon, and offer individualized service. But they are closer to Waterbury, and a treasure trove of other services and products. You might want to check them out... Otherwise, my family pet growing up was groomed in Ridgefield, Ct at the Yankee Clipper on Route 7. However, the owner passed away a year or so ago, and I'm not certain who is grooming there now. Oh, and before I forget, there's also a kennel that grooms in New Milford, Ct - I can't remember the name of it. Anyhow, a few people that I have met have recommended them HIGHLY for toy breed grooming - especially Yorkies. But I remember that it was difficult to get an appointment there, and that it was costly. Hope that this helps!

New place in New Milford... Well, Chewie had an unexpected visit to the vet today - winds up he has a slight case of bronchitis... And on the way home we stopped on Route 7 in New Milford at "Paw Fection" a new: -Doggie Daycare -Boarding Facility -Grooming -Pet Store It was lots of fun - and they specialize in small dogs. The lady who owns it is fantastic - and we found out that she grooms our neighbors poodle! So - I thought that I'd add another to the mix! And also share the exciting news that there is a doggie daycare that specializes in small breeds EVERYDAY (some daycares take small breeds on "special days"). Oh, and boarding! The facility is great - and she lets you bring your own stuff like crates and beds in... It was really nice to see her whole facility - which is still undergoing some construction... Okay, enough from me.
