| How did you decide that he/she is the one!? I am just wondering.. about everyone's experience -I am asking a lot of these things these days! How did you decide that he/she (your yorkie) is the one? How did you get clicked? You know.. what I am trying to ask!..hard to pick the word..

| When I knew I wanted a Yorkie, I started looking. Read everything I could, meet a few Breeders. I went to a few shows, was on line all most every night doing research on the breed. I saw so many little furbabies, my kids were going nuts. They would have brought the very first one. Not me, it took me over a year to find her. I was buying lots of stuff, toys, sweaters, beds, I just couldn't find her. Her name was picked out long before I started looking at the pups. The day I set my eye's on Princess, I knew she was the one. We have this bond, that is hard to explain. She is such a happy little girl, I just love her so much, there was NO way I was going to pass her up. Princess will be three in March.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I called a few breeders and Cali's breeder talked to me for nearly an hour and I got a good feeling from her. She said they had kept the best for last in case they had to keep her and when I went to look at her I just melted. I didn't really have a choice as she was the only one not sold of the three. But her sisters were definately not as cute. I had told my husband that I was only going to get her if she was everything I wanted in a Yorkie. When we left and i had put a deposit on her he said I guess she was exactly what you wanted and I said yea she's a Yorkie!!

| I looked at him and said OH my gosh!! He's the one!!!! How goregous.!!! Then I pointed him out to my boyfriend and begged and pleaded. He said he'd look into it (we wanted a dog, but at the time had moved in just a couple of months before and really couldn't afford it. That changed after a little convincing) He looked at a few other dogs and it was between the one I picked out (Tigger) and a different one. He called me at work and said choose a number one or two. I think I said one and it was Tigger. It was meant to be.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | When we got Magic, my aunt's yorkie litter had three girls and a boy...the first time I saw them their were two little one and one bigger girl and I told her that I wanted a smaller one...so when we went to pick Magic up, my aunt had saved her favorite, the runt of the litter, for me! I knew immediately that she was my baby, she was so lively and special.... For Sailor, she was the only girl in the litter, but the moment we held her we knew we wanted her...her parents were beautiful and so playful...and she was so tiny, I knew I wanted her right away....she is perfect!!

| How did I know? I looked at her with her litter mates and she looked so sweet. I picked her up and held her up against my chest for awhile to see how she would react to me. The melting point came when she raised her little head back and looked me right in my eyes. I've never seen anything like it!

| With Brambles my baba , it was easy as he was the only one, i wasnt looking for a dog of any sort as i already had a border terrier x , but we went to a gypsy horse fair and an old woman was dragging him around on a peice of string, it took me 2 hours £200 and my gold bracelett before i could persuade her to let me have him, needless to say i went straight to the gates and reported her to the RSPCA, i took him to the vet as soon as we got home, he was dehidrated malnourished, and full of worms , they said it would be kinder to put him to sleep , but i knew he should live, so we nursed him back to health, and its the best thing ive ever done, he is perfect, he never leaves my side, he is the most sweet natured loving little boy in the world.... with suzi, it was different i loved my boy so much i wanted another so we started looking for a pup, we went to visit a little girl pup who sounded perfect, but when we got there they had sold it, but i saw suzi and i just had to have her, the woman was happy to let her go and gave her to me for nothing, she is a sweetheart x x Basil was an unwanted early christmas present, that my brothers neighbour got for his wife , she went mad at him and i was in the rite place at the rite time, i heard them shouting in the garden and i said id have him if they didnt want him , she said gladly , so i went home quick lol.. he is adorable x so i think they chose me ..

| I had wanted a yorkie for as long as I could remember. My husband (x-husband now) and I had been trying to have a baby for over 5 years and the doctors had told us that we probably would never concieve. I came home from work the next day, my husband had the paper in his hand, he had been making calls looking for a yorkie and he had found one, 2 hours away, and we had to go right then and there cuz they had one puppy left. We went and I actually picked her out of the litter without knowing which one she was. I felt an instant connection with her. My husband took one look at her little baby face and almost cried, she was so cute an fluffy (her nick name is fluffy puppy)The breeder was horrible and the place was filthy. We ended up taking her home when she was only 2 weeks old and we have been inseprable ever since! And I found out that I was pregnant 4 weeks after Gracie came home. Funny how things work out. |

| Twinkie was the runt of her litter. She was much smaller than her littermates making it hard for her to play as aggressively, eat&drink first and I just wanted to spoil her rotten. Apart from that she was the cutest and I could not resist the babydoll face with those M&M eyes

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Don't stress, Michiko. I've heard of hyper Yorkies, I've heard of mellow Yorkies, I've heard of big Yorkies and I've heard of small Yorkies. But I've never heard anyone say they were disappointed in their Yorkie. Eddie was the first Yorkie we'd ever seen. A friend bought one, was terribly allergic to him and was looking to unload him. We took him and haven't been disappointed for a second.

I chose Joey over his littermate for one reason. The two of them were having a great game of puppy wrestling. They both were beautiful (I couldn't tell them apart although my 12 year old could), confident, unafraid of strangers, and rambunctious. But when I picked Joey up and petted him, he laid right down in my lap and ate it up. His littermate skirmed to get down. I still think I made a great choice!!! (Don't we all?) He has a great personality.

| My husband picked her for me. And I asked him this question. He said that he picked the one that seemed more quiet, but curious. Plus he thought Trixie's mom was beautiful and her dad was okay, so when the breeder said she'd look more like her mom, he was sold. I think character can change quite a bit from when they are little to when they are fully themselves. It also depends on the home they grow up in...
