| My girls are being spayed in the morning I am taking both Deb and Maya to be spayed in the morning. I am very nervous and worried for them!!! Please tell me what to expect when I bring them home! They will be spending the night at the vets. There is someone there 24/7 to check on them. Should I keep them in seperate kennels to rest or together in the pen that they are used to? Will I be able to hold them or should I plan to let them just lay around? I am new to this and scared for my girls!

| i was just in your shoes yesterday! except i have a little boy. he did great! he took a nap when we got home, but 4 hours later, he was up and ready to play. peeing was normal, but his poop was runny. and boy was he hungry!!! i was afraid to feed him too much at once, lest he starts to vomit. so i hand fed him kibbles and water. he yelped a little bit when i touched the leg where the catheter was used. he also wasn't as playful as he normally was. but he did like to be held. this morning it's as if nothing happened. he's playful, just moves a little slowly. and so hungry i swear he'd eat a horse if i fed him one. your girls will be just fine! good luck! |

| Jen, it will be OK! Expect both your girls to be very sleepy and a little out of sorts. Your vet may give you some pain meds for them, and they may sleep a lot for a day or two when you bring them home. Sometimes pain meds mess up their stools, so don't be surprised. When you bring them in, ask a million questions of the vet, and when you pick them up, ask a million questions about recovery. Your vet should be able to put your mind at ease. Also, there is some kind special of anesthetic gas they should use with the surgery that works pretty well with Yorkies with little complications... I don't know what the name of that is but someone else should be able to tell you. They'll be OK, Jen honey!! I'll be thinking about you and your girls tomorrow! You are a WONDERFUL doggy mom for doing this for your girls, you know!! HUGS!!

| They will be tired, and will just rest for a day or two. But then they will be running all over like nothing happened. Wishing them a speedy recovery! Hang in there Mom, it's really harder on you then it is for them! Please keep us posted.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | IF I were in your shoes I'd try to keep them together if that's what they're used to....but your vet may have other ideas.... When Cheri just got spayed last year she recovered very quickly. She was done by 10 am and home by 5. day 2 you wouldn't have even known she had the surgery. GOOD LUCK ! |

| both at the same time?? I am waiting for an update on them. I have an appointment for ahia and was wondering if i should have buckeye done at the same time. would this be too much for me to handle at one time? I hope all goes well for you and them.
