| She will be groggy and sore and they will probably sent you home with some pain meds. The pups recover much quicker than we do I slept on the floor with Shelby for 4 nights b/c I was afraid she would jump or fall off of my bed! It's important that you do not allow her to be too active for 10 days to 2 weeks. They will tell you not to bathe her during that time, so bathe her today! good luck |

| Well it all depends on your vet on whether she stays overnight or not. Some vets require it, and some don't. If you bring her home the day of, she will still be very groggy from the anethesia. So don't expect her to get overly excited about food or water or playtime. She'll need to be confined to her pen or crate (whichever you use) where she can rest and not be disturbed. If you pick her up the day after, she should be just fine. She might still be a little sleepy from the whole visit, but she won't be groggy like she will the day of the surgery.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I agree with Cindy. My vet usually keeps them overnight but no one is there. I asked her when the time comes to have Cali spayed if i could take her home that night if I signed release papers and she said I could. I will stay up all night and take shifts with my husband to watch her. Good luck tomorrow!

| I took Chelsea early morning for her surgery, picked her up at 4pm, and she was fine. A little groggy, didnt care for food or water, just slept in her crate. Next morning, early, the ball of energy was back...eating, walking, and running, I just watched her thru the day, she mostly wanted to be near me, if I left the room, I placed her in her crate, so she would not jump on any furniture. Try not to worry, your pup will be fine. Good luck, Chelsea'sMom |

| When I had Maddie spayed, I took her in at 8 and picked her up at 4. She was groggy for a while and then got up and wanted something to eat. I was surprised that she'd have an appetite and the vet said, if she wants to eat, let her. I had problems keeping Maddie from licking her stiches, so I went and bought some onesies, cut a hole for the tail and it did the trick...she also looked darling in it! Best wishes and hope the time flys by until she's back home with you again!

| I had my Gracie spayed at 11 months old (weighing only 2.5 pounds). She did fine. I made ramps onto the couch for her so she could get up and down without jumping. I made her a soft bed on the couch and she stayed there pretty much all day. Just be careful lifting her due to the stiches. I know how nerve wracking it can be, I cried all day when Gracie was spayed. It was the first time ever we were apart all night and I could not sleep. I will say a little prayer for your baby, and for you so that you have the strength to get threw this. She will be back home and in your arms in no time! |

| One thing that I have experienced with newly spayed dogs(actually bitches , i guess) is that you have to be very careful picking them up.I support the tummy with a folded blanket. Still , even the most even tempered girl can snap or bite when in pain and the most sociable girl might just want to be left alone. |
