| What is your favourite yorkie haircut? I recently got a yorkie puppy and find the puppy and kennel cuts rather bland. I was also wondering how the posters on here with extra long coated dogs keep their females from peeing on the coat while squatting? My boy still squats and pees on his feet at 8 months It's probably wishful thinking but I was also wondering if there was a way to get a puppy ckc registered if you do not have the breeder's contacts? He was seized from a puppymill. He is clearly purebred, though at 7 lbs no show winner. Would still be fun though! |

My favorite cut is still the puppy cut, with longer feathers on the backs of the legs. I don't have patience to maintain a longer coat, and I'm sure Bella is happier with a low maintenance haircut.

| You can look up images for Yorkie haircuts on-line or check YouTube--there are dozens and dozens different styles/cuts. The styles are, if nothing else, fun to look at! I keep Piper's hair longer than short and somedays it looks like this and sometimes it looks like this... |

| I am a fan of puppy cuts. Mine just don’t have the personality to be in a full coat. In order to be CKC registered both parents would have to have been registered through them.

| I keep Gidget in a puppy cut year round. She doesn't like to be "messed with" and the puppy cut is the answer. |

| So Emma is in long coat however, her sanitary area, under"arms" and belly are all shaved low. That's helped with matting and keeping pee/poo out her hair. I had a male yorkie and I kept in a "schnauzer" cut. I liked the low body, fluffy legs and its was really cute and functional. I have a preference that may be sexist lol but I prefer boys short, no top knot and girls longer the better with top knot.

| I keep my guy in a puppy cut year round also, low maintenance for me, fast baths for him. Besides I love the puppy cut look.

| Puppy cut, as Fabian is very athletic. We're growing out the hair on just his tail, though, because we only found out about him after he was already docked. (and with a name like Fabian, there just has to be a dramatic touch somewhere. <g>) |
