| I don't understand why people dye their dogs' hair The video in the article is pretty disturbing, but you can just read through the article. The poor Maltese nearly died from burns because their dumb owner decided they wanted a purple dog. Makes me so angry. https://globalnews.ca/news/3986863/d...o-dye-it-hair/ In the past, I've noticed some dog owners dying their dog's hair from now and then and it always made me cringe. Usually a tuff here or there - either their ears, tails, or paws. I just really don't get it. It's harmful chemicals (that frankly I don't like much either - it stings my scalp). I believe dog's have a different pH system than humans do (maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm this). Seeing that dogs don't have a choice, it's not really fair to be applying these harmful chemicals on them like this. It pained me so much to read about this one though. The poor girl. It's just so awful. The article didn't mention anything about punishment to the owner either for animal cruelty! What do you guys think? Am I the only one who wants to scream "Please do not dye your dog's hair!" PS: I don't know why people paint their dog's nails either!

| I heard about that and it’s terrible. They do have safe pet hair dye though for people who really want to do it. They have natural ones for pets too.

| I do think there are pet safe dyes out there and if a pet patent wants to do it that’s there prerogative to do so . Some instances I’ve seen have been cute and I’ve considered it before . This story is sad and I hate that this happened .

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog That is crazy dying a dog's hair. Some people have no common sense or brains enough to figure out that is Not good for the dog. It made me mad hearing that. Dogs are precious and they should be treated with love and healthy choices. Dying dog fur is just ridiculous. |

| There are safe vegetable dyes and pet nail polishes that are not toxic to the animal. |

| That's a bit judgmental for those of us who would use pet safe dye for fun events or something like that.

| I read about this earlier this week online. I was shocked when I seen the photos. I hope that poor baby is OK and recovering

| Except for I'm not judging anyone who would use pet safe dye for whatever reason; in fact, I think such things can be great fun. But if one doesn't take reasonable precautions with their pet (i.e. reading labels, asking professionals...) when it comes to non-essential and potentially dangerous activities, then I get, well, obviously I get too harsh. |

| No worries...sometimes I type stuff without really thinking if I'm being on the 'extreme-side' o-things (lord knows, I can be) and you gently reminded me to be a bit more careful! |
