| Can You Clear-Up How I Clean Up Piper? I have yet to find a groomer since moving to Wisconsin, so I'll be giving Piper her bath which is a first for me--Piper, on the other hand is seasoned pro at this...Sooo, just to get started, what is the best shampoo? Do I need to apply a conditioner after? When done bathing my girl, do I just towel dry and keep her warm? "Carolyn (my groomer in Nevada) told me Piper is "real easy" to groom, however, she advised that Piper doesn't like the blow dryer--so Carolyn didn't use one. I will be so happy to get any and all directions, suggestions, do's and don'ts anyone has to offer. Since we had a warm, muddy, out-and-about, day yesterday--which Piper took complete advantage of...burying her bone in the mud resulting in a very muddy face and paws; and then finding something mysterious and wondrous to repeatedly roll about in, I'm hoping to bath Pipe sooner than later, but feel I'd best have experts weigh-in before I do anything! Thanks so very, very much!! |

| Not sure how helpful this is, but here's a video I posted a year ago of when I groomed Scottie. https://www.instagram.com/p/BMHS-_ABV0c/ These days, I've been bathing him with shampoo only, then towel dry, and using a diluted leave on conditioner while combing out his hair. Because his hair is so long, by the time I'm done his hair is all dry.

| Laundry Tub Emma goes, Shampoo (I use Pantene) & Conditioner, comb through with a wide tooth comb, burrito her up in a towel when finished bathing and I do blow her dry but using a pin brush while blowing dry. She is not a fan of the blow dryer either but I keep the temp high and the air flow low and I don't do her face. Give a perfume spray and she's all done.

I'm not sure what products our Groomer uses but its dog related I'm sure. I have used some dog shampoos on my past dogs before and Tropiclean is one of my preferred brands as it doesn't leave a residue on the coat and the dog usually smell amazing after. I do like the Cloud Star Buddy Wash as well, and I've used it on Emma a few times but she gets oily after a few days with that. Perfume sprays I'm a fan of bath and body works sprays (yes its human) but she smells awesome after and the dog ones I use are Buddy Wash Lavendar and Mint and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE even over the bath and body works is a spray called Miss Claybone! I have used that forever and it lasts a long time and doesn't make the coat oily or dry. So because I use a scented spray at the end, I do try not to have a perfum-ey shampoo or conditioner. So I will match whatever I wash with to the spay I use. Bath time, I do brush teeth, but I leave the nail clipping/dremeling to the groomer and vet.

| For the little mister, I use 4-Legger shampoo. All organic, no animal testing, no puppy itching, smells great, soft fur, natural flea deterrent, rinses out completely very easily, etc.....then while still damp, I spritz him with Infusion 23 spray (show dogs owners use this for the shine/sheen). Of course, Mario is not full blooded or long haired, so take that into account as well .

| I use a face wash on Callie and Joeys heads and Callie has a medicated shampoo but I use Isle of Dogs on Joey and Penny. After I bathe them I use an ear cleaner that drys any water that got in their ears out. I towel dry them and lay another towel on the floor to let them roll on. Then I comb them. Mine are all in puppy cuts so they don’t have long hair. By the time I get all three bathed they first two are already mostly dry lol.
