| Help! Animal Kingdom AZ??? Does anyone know if animalkingdomaz.com is a reputable place to adopt a yorkie terrier?? I see that they have multiple stores in Phoenix and Tucson? Has anyone on this forum used them before? Are they reputable? If not does anyone know of a licensed breeder in Arizona? Thank you! |

| Never ever buy from a pet store because their puppies come from puppy mills.

| I just checked their website, this is a pet shop, they get all their puppies from ill bred puppy mills. You need to stay away from pet shops like these. Finding a good breeder is not an easy task, it can take months of researching. call some vets in your area to see if they have clients that are breeders. You may have to search out of your state to find a good breeder that breeds to better the breed, not a BYB (back yard breeder) that just throws two yorkies together. What you want is a "healthy" baby. Stay away from anyone that advertises using the words "tiny, teacup, baby doll yorkies" These are ppl that breed below standard yorkies. A standard yorkie should weigh 5 to 7 pounds, the words" tiny, teacup, baby doll" breed for under 5 pound yorkies that are very frail, and sometimes have serious health issues. Take your time researching, I know you want a puppy NOW, but rushing out to buy just anything because you want that wee lil fur ball in your arms, may cause you to get a sickly baby.

| I don’t understand why Arizona hasn’t banned the selling of dogs in pet stores. I thought everybody knew that that was taboo. I’m glad where I live it’s banned to sell animals in pet stores. If any store here did that, there’d be an uproar from the community and the store would suffer a lot of consequences. |
